NASCAR
NBC Sports Group commences its third weekend of 2016 NASCAR racing coverage with trackside action from New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Following two nail-biting weekends of racing, NBCSN’s on-site coverage from New England kicks off Saturday with XFINITY Series racing at 4 p.m. ET, followed by Sprint Cup racing Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
NBCSN continues its Sprint Cup coverage today with the qualifying at 4:30 p.m. ET. An on-site edition of NASCAR America wraps up the evening at 6 p.m. ET from the Fan Zone of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Saturday’s coverage begins on CNBC with a second practice at 10 a.m. ET, followed by final practice on NBCSN at 12:30 p.m. ET. Sunday’s race day coverage begins at noon ET on NBCSN with a one-hour edition of NASCAR America live from the pit road. Countdown to Green begins at 1 p.m. ET, with race coverage officially starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. On-site coverage wraps up with the Sprint Cup Series post-race show at 5 p.m. ET. NASCAR Victory Lap from Stamford closes out the weekend at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
XFINITY coverage from New Hampshire begins Friday with practice at 1 p.m. ET and 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Race day coverage begins Saturday with qualifying at 11:15 a.m. ET on NBCSN. NASCAR America kicks off pre-race coverage at 3 p.m. ET and rolls into Countdown to Green at 3:30 p.m. ET. Race coverage begins at 4 p.m. ET, and a 30-minute on-site post-race show wraps up the night at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Race announcer Rick Allen calls this weekend’s action alongside analysts Steve Letarte and Burton. Pre- and post-race coverage is handled by host Krista Voda, and analysts Kyle Petty and Dale Jarrett. Marty Snider, Mike Massaro, Kelli Stavast and Dave Burns report from pit road. Features reporter Rutledge Wood is joined by reporter Parker Kligerman this weekend as both work to bring viewers closer to the sights and sounds of the speedway.
GOLF
NBC Sports Group’s tournament coverage continues this weekend with the 145th Open, the PGA TOUR’s Barbasol Championship, and the LPGA Tour’s Marathon Classic.
The dramatic setting of Royal Troon Golf Club provides the backdrop for NBC Sports Group’s inaugural coverage of The 145TH Open, with nearly 50 hours of live tournament coverage on Golf Channel and NBC. Golf Channel’s live weekend coverage of the 145th Open continues today at 1:30a.m. ET, and continues until the final putt drops on NBC on Sunday.
Dan Hicks and Johnny Miller, Terry Gannon and Sir Nick Faldo and Steve Sands and Frank Nobilo will rotate in the 18th Tower for Golf Channel and NBC’s live tournament coverage of The Open. Making his NBC Sports debut, Mike Tirico will serve as host of The Open and assist with some play-by-play of tournament coverage. The broadcast team for all four rounds also will include David Feherty, Peter Jacobsen, Gary Koch, Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing, Tom Abbott, Notah Begay, Billy Ray Brown, Curt Byrum, Jerry Foltz, Jimmy Roberts and Todd Lewis.
Rich Lerner and Ryan Burr will anchor Golf Central Live From The Open coverage from onsite at Royal Troon and will be joined by analysts David Duval – who also will be competing in The 145TH Open – as well as Brandel Chamblee, Frank Nobilo, Begay, Rolfing, Faldo, Paul McGinley, Colin Montgomerie and Billy Kratzert. They will be joined by a team of reporters and contributors, including Steve Burkowski, Lewis, Rex Hoggard, Tim Rosaforte and Ken Schofield.
Golf Channel’s live coverage of the PGA TOUR’s Barbasol Championship continues tonight at 5p.m. ET. Whit Watson (play-by-play) is joined by Lanny Wadkins (analyst), Craig Perks (tower), Gary Christian (on course) and Phil Blackmare (on course). Coverage continues Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
Golf Channel’s coverage of the LPGA Tour’s Marathon Classic continues at 8p.m. ET. Grant Boone (play-by-play) is joined by Karen Stupples (analyst) , Jim Gallagher Jr. (tower), Nicole Castrale (on course), and Kay Cockerill (on course). Coverage on Golf Channel concludes on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
INDYCAR HONDA INDY TORONTO
NBC Sports Group continues its exclusive cable coverage of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series this weekend north of the border in Toronto, with CNBC’s live presentation of the Honda Indy Toronto at Exhibition Place this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Coverage begins Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with live qualifying, prior to Sunday’s live race coverage at 2:30 p.m. ET on CNBC. NBCSN will also air an encore presentation of the race Sunday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. ET.
Leigh Diffey (play-by-play) will call the action alongside Toronto native Paul Tracy, and Townsend Bell. Reporters Jon Beekhuis, Katie Hargitt, Robin Miller and Kevin Lee will report from the pits.
LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
NBC Sports Group’s motorsports coverage includes the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Spring Creek National event from Millville, Minn., this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
Veteran play-by-play voice Jason Weigandt, analyst Grant Langston, and pit reporter Georgia Lindsay will call this weekend’s action.
NITRO WORLD GAMES
NBC Sports will present the first-ever Nitro World Games, an unparalleled action sports competition featuring the world’s best athletes in the sports of FMX, BMX, skateboarding, inline skating, and scooter, this Saturday, July 16, in primetime at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
Todd Richards will anchor coverage from Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. Richards will be joined by Tony Hawk and Travis Pastrana.
AVP PRO VOLLEYBALL
NBC Sports Group continues its live presentation of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour this Sunday, July 17, at 3 p.m. ET with the Manhattan Beach Open.
Veteran broadcaster Chris Marlowe will serve as the play-by-play announcer. Marlowe will be joined by Kevin Wong (analyst), and Dain Blanton (reporter).
