Golf Channel and NBC to Air More than 22 Hours of the LPGA’s Final Major of 2015, The Evian Championship, Sept. 10-13 from Evian-les-Bains, France
U.S.A to Square Off Against Europe at the Biennial Solheim Cup Match-Play Competition, Sept. 18-20, from Heidelberg, Germany With Nearly 30 Hours of Golf Channel Coverage
ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 9, 2015) – NBC Sports Group is gearing up to showcase two historic weeks in women’s professional golf: the LPGA’s final major championship in 2015, The Evian Championship (Thursday-Sunday, Sept. 10-13), followed by the biennial Solheim Cup (Friday-Sunday, Sept. 18-20), pitting the top players representing U.S.A. and Europe in three days of match-play competition.
THE EVIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Golf Channel and NBC will combine for more than 22 hours of tournament coverage of The Evian Championship – the most number of hours in the history of the tournament— taking place at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France. As the season’s fifth and final major championship, the Evian Championship features each of the top-10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Golf Channel will air live coverage of the first three rounds Thursday-Saturday. On Thursday and Friday, Golf Channel will feature the morning and afternoon waves in two, three-hour telecast windows. Golf Channel will air five hours of coverage on Saturday, and on Sunday, Golf Channel and NBC will combine for final round coverage, with NBC airing the final 90 minutes of tournament action. Terry Gannon and Tom Abbott will rotate play-by-play duties the first two days, with Hall-of-Famer Judy Rankin joining Gannon in the broadcast booth, and Major Champion Karen Stupples joining Abbott. Richard Kaufman will report from an on-course tower, and Jerry Foltz and Sandy Mackenzie will walk inside the ropes as course reporters.
All four rounds of The Evian Championship will be streamed live on Golf Live Extra. Sunday’s final round live streaming will begin on Golf Live Extra at 6:30 a.m. ET and run through the tournament’s conclusion.

THE SOLHEIM CUP
The following week, Golf Channel will showcase the top players in women’s golf representing the United States and Europe at the biennial Solheim Cup, taking place at St. Leon-Rot Golf Club in Heidelberg, Germany, Sept. 18-20. From the first tee shot on Friday until the last putt drops on Sunday, Golf Channel will televise nearly 30 live hours of the Solheim Cup. In addition, Golf Channel will air live coverage of both the Solheim Cup opening and closing ceremonies.
Broadcast Team
Golf Channel’s coverage of the Solhiem Cup will be anchored by two teams. Play-by-play host Terry Gannon will be joined by two-time U.S. Solheim Cup team captain Judy Rankin; Tom Abbott and two-time European Solheim Cup team member Karen Stupples will comprise the other team. When not conducting play-by-play, Abbott will join Curt Byrum as hole announcers reporting from on-course towers, with Jerry Foltz and Kay Cockerill following the U.S. and European teams on the ground.
Digital Coverage
GolfChannel.com will provide extensive coverage from editorial director Jay Coffin and senior writer Randall Mell. The tandem will feature expanded editorial content and interactive opportunities for fans themed to the Solheim Cup, including match-by-match recaps, analysis and perspective. Daily online video will include highlights and analysis from the broadcast team on-site.
