More than 200 Hours of figure skating coverage is set to begin this week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Oct. 16, 2017 — NBC Sports Group and U.S. Figure Skating announced today the broadcast schedule for the 2017-18 figure skating season. Beginning this week, NBC Sports Group will present more than 200 hours of coverage throughout the season, including nearly 100 hours on NBC and NBCSN. Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will also present more than 100 hours of figure skating coverage. In total, coverage will include more than 100 hours of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, 23.5 hours of coverage of the 2018 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and same-weekend and live coverage will be carried of the 2018 World, Four Continents and European championships.
NBC Sports Group will kick off its Grand Prix Series coverage with 2017 Grand Prix Russia set for Oct. 20-22 in Moscow. 2017 Bridgestone Skate America, held Nov. 24-26 in Lake Placid, New York, will have 13.5 hours of live coverage, including six hours on NBC and NBCSN. The Grand Prix Series concludes Dec. 7-10 with coverage of the 2017 Grand Prix Final from Nagoya, Japan.
NBC Sports Group’s five-day live telecast window for the 2018 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which will be held Jan. 3-7, 2017, in San Jose, California, features live coverage of each discipline, including the ladies free skate in primetime Friday, Jan. 5 and the men’s free skate in primetime on Saturday, Jan. 6. The Smucker’s Skating Spectacular will air the weekend following the U.S. Championships on NBC.
NBCSN will provide nine hours of same-day and live coverage of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships, which are set for March 21- 25, in Milan, Italy. A World Championships recap show will air on NBC at 3 p.m. (ET) Sunday, April 8.

U.S. Figure Skating
U.S. Figure Skating is the national governing body for the sport of figure skating in the United States as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and the International Skating Union. U.S. Figure Skating is comprised of more than 750 member clubs, collegiate clubs, school-affiliated clubs and more than 1,000 registered Learn to Skate USA programs representing more than 184,200 members. U.S. Figure Skating is charged with the development of the sport on all levels within the United States including athletes, officials, sanctioning of events and exhibitions, and establishing the rules and guidelines by which the sport is governed.
