STAMFORD, Conn. – April 4, 2019 – NBC Sports has added bonus NHL coverage on NBCSN this Saturday night at 11 p.m. ET, while the Stanley Cup Playoff picture is being finalized on the last day of the 2018-19 NHL regular season.
If all playoff teams have been determined, NBC Sports will host whiparound studio coverage at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN, analyzing the upcoming first-round matchups, as well as any ongoing games with an impact on playoff seedings. Liam McHugh will anchor Saturday night’s coverage on NBCSN alongside analysts Keith Jones and Brian Boucher.
If the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference has not been finalized, Saturday night’s Colorado Avalanche vs. San Jose Sharks game will be joined live and in progress at 11 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
The “Push for the Playoffs” on NBCSN continues tonight at 7 p.m. ET, as Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals host Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET in a pivotal Eastern Conference matchup.
Montreal (43-29-8, 94 pts) is currently battling Carolina (95 pts) and Columbus (94 pts) for the two Wild Card spots in the Eastern Conference. The Canadiens are coming off a 4-2 win against Tampa on Tuesday. Washington (47-25-8, 102 pts) leads the Islanders (99 pts) by three points in the Metropolitan Division and can potentially clinch the division title tonight.
