NBA TV to Exclusively Televise NBA 2012-13 Season Debuts of Miami Heat’s LeBron James, Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin and
New Orleans Hornets’ No. 1 Draft Pick Anthony Davis as Part of More Than 100 Hours of Pre-Season Coverage, Including 29 Live Games
NBA Champion Miami Heat vs. L.A. Clippers from China, New Orleans Hornets vs. Orlando Magic from Mexico
NBA TV is gearing up for the 2012-13 NBA regular season with more than 100 hours of pre-season coverage and 29 live games. The network will exclusively televise the premieres of the defending NBA Champion Miami Heat, Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers, No. 1 draft pick Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets and the Orlando Magic. The network’s pre-season action continues Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. ET, when the Dallas Mavericks take on Alba Berlin from Germany and Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2:30 p.m., when the Orlando Magic meet the No. 1 overall draft pick Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Hornets from Mexico City. Additionally, the Miami Heat will face the Los Angeles Clippers from Beijing on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 a.m. Pre-season programming includes new episodes of NBA Real Training Camp and previews for all 30 NBA teams.
In addition to the 29 live games, NBA TV’s original pre-season programming also includes:
o Team Preview Shows: NBA TV will televise a 30-minute preview show for each team. Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 9, the network will debut two team previews a day starting with the defending NBA Champion Miami Heat at 7 p.m., followed by the Chicago Bulls at 7:30 p.m. The team preview shows will provide exclusive interviews with players and coaches as they prepare for the start of the season.
o NBA Real Training Camp: Upcoming episodes of the series, which offers an inside look into team training camps, includes the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m., Boston Celtics on Friday, Oct. 12, at noon and the New York Knicks on Monday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. (Note: live NBA Real Training Camp telecast times are scheduled to change due to team practice schedule adjustments.)
NBA TV commentators include hosts Vince Cellini, Jared Greenberg, Ernie Johnson, Rick Kamla and Matt Winer, analysts Greg Anthony, Brent Barry, Dennis Scott, Steve Smith, Chris Webber and NBA Insider David Aldridge. TNT’s Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Steve Kerr, Reggie Miller, Shaquille O’Neal and Craig Sager will also continue to make appearances on NBA TV throughout the season.
