Secaucus, N.J., October 25, 2010 – MLB Network’s coverage of the Postseason continues as MLB Tonight: World Series Edition begins this week before and after every World Series game with previews, analysis and highlights of the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers matchup, plus interviews from AT&T Park in San Francisco and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. On-site coverage will be anchored by Greg Amsinger and Matt Vasgersian, with analysts Sean Casey, 1993 and 1997 World Series champion Al Leiter, Dan Plesac and Harold Reynolds and reporting from Hall of Fame award-winning baseball writer Peter Gammons, Hazel Mae and Matt Yallof. MLB Tonight: World Series Edition Delivered by UPS begins tomorrow, October 26 at 6:00 p.m. ET, including live coverage of World Series Media Day in San Francisco.
Starting on Wednesday, October 27, MLB Network Remembers with Bob Costas will highlight historic World Series moments as Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Juan Marichal and Willie McCovey look back at the San Francisco Giants’ first World Series in 1962; former World Series MVP and Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson discusses the 1970 series between the Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds; Hall of Famers Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench and Tony Perez talk about the Big Red Machine in the 1975 World Series; MLB Network’s Jim Kaat recalls facing Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax in the 1965 World Series; and MLB Network’s John Smoltz remembers his classic matchup against Jack Morris in Game Seven of the 1991 World Series. MLB Network Remembers with Bob Costas will also feature footage from the recently rediscovered complete film of Game Seven of the 1960 World Series, which MLB Network will air in its entirety on December 15.
Throughout the World Series, MLB Network will continue to air two-hour game rewinds the day after each World Series game. On off days, MLB Tonight will air for one-hour at 6:00 p.m. ET while MLB Network’s Path to the Championship will recap the latest World Series results. Some of the biggest names in music will be featured throughout MLB Network’s World Series coverage as “Radioactive” by Grammy Award-winning Kings of Leon, “Power” by 14-time Grammy Award winner Kanye West and “We Win,” by former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Duff McKagan and his band Duff McKagan’s Loaded, will all appear within MLB Tonight, Path to the Championship and MLB Network on-air promotions.
