Mississippi State Takeover Schedule for July 6 on SEC Network

SEC Network Takeover (#SECNTakeover) continues Monday, July 6, with Mississippi State taking over the national television network for 24 hours. Mississippi State has selected eight marquee television events from the vault* to relive with fans.  Viewers will also be treated to classic documentaries and insightful interviews with coaches re-living the year in Bulldog athletics.

“Since both the SEC Network and Mississippi State are finishing up a great year, wrapping the Network coverage in Maroon and White only seems fitting,” said Director of Athletics Scott Stricklin. “Bulldog fans will have a chance to re-live the glory of the Bulldogs’ run to No. 1 in football, as well as many of the moments that defined a historic 2014-15 athletic year.”

Mississippi State #SECNTakeover Schedule Includes: 

• 1999 Egg Bowl: Trailing 20–6, MSU rallied late in the fourth quarter to tie the game. A key interception in the final minute led to a game-winning 44-yard field goal in one of the most exciting ‘Egg Bowl’ finishes ever at raucous Davis Wade Stadium.
• 2015 Florida vs. Mississippi State (Softball): Trailing 3-0 heading into the final frame, the Bulldogs rallied for five runs, including a walk-off three-run homer to stun eventual national champion Florida in the series finale.
• 2012 SEC Baseball Championship Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi State: MSU won five games in Hoover culminating with a 3-0 shutout of Vanderbilt to claim its first SEC Tournament title since 2005.
• ESPNU Road Trip: Vanderbilt vs. Mississippi State: The ESPNU Road Trip crew spent a few days behind the scenes with the Bulldogs from practice to Coach Dan Mullen’s office leading up to MSU’s SEC tilt with Vanderbilt.
• Best Of Relentless: Insightful interviews with key MSU athletes during the 2014-15 athletic year produced by HailState Productions.
• 2015 Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State (Women’s Basketball): Freshman Victoria Vivians buried a three to lift No. 17 MSU past No. 13 Texas A&M, 63-61, in an SEC overtime thriller from Humphrey Coliseum.
• Mississippi State Summer Football Tour: SEC Network’s Peter Burns and Greg McElroy went all-access with head coach Dan Mullen, defensive coordinator Manny Diaz and quarterback Dak Prescott to preview the 2015 season.
• The Rise To Number 1: A look back at one of the most memorable seasons in MSU football history as seen through the eyes of HailState Productions. Re-live the powerful moments that saw the Bulldogs go from unranked to No. 1 quicker than any team in college football history, complete with a recap of MSU’s first ESPN College GameDay appearance.
• 2014 Mississippi State vs. LSU (Football): Quarterback Dak Prescott racked up 373 yards of total offense as unranked MSU went into Death Valley and defeated No. 8 LSU, 34-29. It was the Bulldogs’ first win in Baton Rouge since 1991.
• 2014 Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State (Football): MSU’s offensive assault led to another top 10 team going down as the Bulldogs beat No. 6 Texas A&M, 48-31, in Davis Wade Stadium.
• 2014 Auburn vs. Mississippi State (Football): For the first time in college football since 1983, a team defeated three straight top-10 opponents as MSU topped No. 2 Auburn, 38-23, before a record crowd in arguably the biggest game in Davis Wade Stadium history. The victory solidified the Bulldogs’ first No. 1 national ranking.
• SEC Storied: Thunder and Lightning: A documentary based on former MSU baseball All-Americans Will Clark, Rafael Palmeiro and the legendary 1985 team with exclusive interviews.
• One Night In March:  The award-winning story of Mississippi State’s 1963 basketball team who made history when they defied the state’s segregation politics to play the integrated team from Loyola University of Chicago.
• 2004 Alabama vs. Mississippi State (Men’s Basketball): The Bulldogs come from behind to beat the Crimson Tide in overtime 82-81 and sink their first SEC Title since 1963.

The SEC Network Takeover is a two-week programming initiative dedicated to airing programming selected by Southeastern Conference schools.
