NBC Sports and Peacock Deliver Viewership Milestones on Premier League Opening Weekend
STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 16, 2023 – Marcus Rashford and Manchester United visit Heung-min Son and Tottenham this Saturday, Aug. 19, at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo, highlighting Premier League action across NBC Sports this weekend.
Manchester United topped Wolverhampton Wanderers, 1-0, on Monday. Tottenham, in their first Premier League match under manager Ange Postecoglou, drew Brentford, 2-2. Peter Drury and Graeme Le Saux will call the match live from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Coverage this weekend begins on Friday, Aug. 18, with Premier League Live at 2 p.m. ET on USA Network leading into Sheffield United at Nottingham Forest at 2:45 p.m. ET (USA Network).
On Saturday, Premier League Mornings begins at 9:30 a.m. ET on USA Network, followed by three matches live at 10 a.m. ET: Mohamed Salah and Liverpool v. Bournemouth (USA Network, Telemundo), Fulham v. Brentford (Peacock), and Wolverhampton Wanderers v. Brighton & Hove Albion (Peacock). The Goal Rush whip-around show will stream live on Peacock at 10 a.m. ET, providing viewers the most compelling action in real time and on replay so they won’t miss a single goal or key play.
Following Tottenham-Manchester United on Saturday, Erling Haaland and defending PL champions Manchester City host Newcastle at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock in a matchup of top-four clubs from last season. Haaland, who set the Premier League record for most goals in a single season last year (36), scored two goals in City’s season-opening 3-0 victory at Burnley last Friday. Newcastle opened the 2023-24 campaign with a 5-1 win v. Aston Villa on Saturday behind two goals from Alexander Isak. Haaland and Isak were the only PL players with multiple goals on opening weekend.
Coverage on Sunday begins with Premier League Mornings at 8 a.m. ET on USA Network, followed by Aston Villa hosting Everton at 9 a.m. ET (USA Network). At 11:30 a.m. ET, Chelsea visit West Ham on USA Network and Telemundo. Jon Champion and Le Saux will call the action live from London Stadium. Also on Sunday, THE MEN IN BLAZERS SHOW, hosted by Roger Bennett and Michael Davies, returns with a new episode on Peacock featuring Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson.
This weekend’s coverage concludes on Monday, Aug. 21, with Arsenal – last season’s Premier League runners up – visiting Crystal Palace at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock. Monday’s coverage concludes with Goal Zone at 5 p.m. ET on Peacock.
Rebecca Lowe hosts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Premier League Mornings, Premier League Live and Goal Zone shows alongside former Premier League player Robbie Mustoe and former Premier League and USMNT player Tim Howard. On Monday, Paul Burmeister hosts alongside Mustoe and former Premier League player Danny Higginbotham.
Throughout the 2023-24 season, Premier League coverage will be featured across NBC, Peacock and USA Network. Peacock continues its expansive coverage of the Premier League this season — including exclusive matches, all games airing live on the NBC broadcast network, studio shows, full match replays, and more. USA Network begins its second full season as the cable home of the PL. Telemundo, Universo and Peacock will provide extensive Spanish-language coverage.

- Sunday’s Chelsea-Liverpool match on Peacock delivered an Average Minute Audience of 973,000 viewers (in English and Spanish), marking the most-streamed Premier League match all-time (surpassing by 12% the Liverpool-Arsenal AMA of 872,000 on April 9, 2023)
