Longhorn Network is the home of Texas Baseball, televising more than 30 games this season, beginning February 19 vs. UNLV, including out of conference games vs. Stanford and No. 12 California and Big 12 games vs. No. 10 Oklahoma State and No. 11 TCU.
Texas begins its season with 12 of its first 13 games on Longhorn Network, getting underway with a three-game series vs. the Rebels (Feb 19-21), continuing with a four-game series vs. Stanford (Feb 25-28) and concluding the early season stretch with a four-game series vs. No. 12 California (March 3-6). After five additional non-conference games on Longhorn Network in mid-March, Texas will host No. 11 TCU (March 24-25) as Big 12 play begins. Overall, Longhorn Network will air 11 games vs. Big 12 opponents, including a three-game series with No. 10 Oklahoma State (April 29-May 1) and a regular season series finale vs. Baylor (May 19-21).
Keith Moreland and Greg Swindell, both former Longhorns, will be the play-by-play commentator and analyst, respectively, on the telecasts. Moreland, an outfielder, helped the Longhorns reach three consecutive College World Series, including winning the CWS in 1975. He went on to play Major League Baseball from 1978-1989, including winning a World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980. Swindell, a pitcher, played in MLB from 1986-2002, including an All-Star appearance in 1989 and a World Series title in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. At Texas, he was the 1985 Baseball America National Player of the Year, a three-time finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and helped the Longhorns reach the CWS in 1983, 1984, and 1985. Moreland had his number retired in 2010 by Texas, while Swindell, who shared the same number as Roger Clemons, was honored by the university in 2009.
