NEW YORK (November 4, 2010) – Los Angeles Kings governor Timothy Leiweke, Tampa Bay Lightning CEO Tod Leiweke and 2010 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Cammi Granato are today’s guests on NHL Hour With Commissioner Gary Bettman on NHL.com and SIRIUS XM Radio at 6 p.m. ET.
Leiweke family bragging rights go up for grabs when Tim Leiweke’s Western Conference leaders, the Kings, face-off against Tod Leiweke’s resurgent Lightning tonight at STAPLES Center. The two club executives will discuss their sibling rivalry — as well as the state of their respective teams. The Kings-Lightning game will feature a showdown of the first two players claimed in the 2008 Entry Draft — top overall pick Steven Stamkos of Tampa and #2 selection Drew Doughty of Los Angeles. Last season, the second NHL campaign for each, resulted in Stamkos scoring 51 goals to get his name on the Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy as the League’s top goal scorer while Doughty was a finalist for the Norris Trophy as the League’s top defenseman.
On Monday, the Hockey Hall of Fame for the first time will honor female players. Granato, a two-time Olympic medalist and founding member of the United States Women’s National Team, will be enshrined along with Canadian star Angela James.
NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman broadcasts live on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on NHL Home Ice (XM Channel 204 and on SIRIUS Channel 208 as part of the “Best of XM” programming package) and NHL.com.
