Secaucus, NJ, February 12, 2011 – It’s known as one of the most legendary home runs in Major League Baseball history. Eighteen years after ending the 1993 World Series with a walk-off home run off of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams, former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Joe Carter reunites with Williams on MLB Network this Monday for an exclusive interview with Bob Costas and Tom Verducci on MLB’s 20 Greatest Games. The interview marks the first time that Carter and Williams have watched the game together since it was played.
The game is ranked 14th in the series, which ranks the top 20 games of the last 50 seasons and features interviews with key figures from each game. The 90-minute episode with Carter and Williams will premiere on February 14 at 8:00 p.m. ET. A preview of the interview, including the quotes below, is available here.

WILLIAMS ON HIS PITCH SELECTION TO CARTER:
“As soon as I got it to 2-2, I should have concerned myself with getting the ball up.”
WILLIAMS ON GIVING UP THE WALK-OFF HOME RUN:
“As soon as it left my hand, I knew I made the mistake.”
WILLIAMS ON IF HE THOUGHT OF PITCHING FROM THE FULL WIND-UP TO CARTER:
“No, I didn’t and I look back on it and that’s my own stupidity.”
CARTER ON WINNING THE WORLD SERIES:
“After I touched first base and I’m rounding getting ready to go to second base, going like, ‘Okay, what do you do now? This is unbelievable.’”
WILLIAMS ON LOSING THE WORLD SERIES:
“The ball was in my hand when he hit it out of the park. That’s all there was to it. There is no excuse.”
