The main event pits Mikey Garcia (30-0, 26 KOs) of Oxnard, Cal. against Orlando Salido (39-11-2, 27 KOs) from Sonora, Mexico, in a scheduled 12-round featherweight title bout. Garcia comes from a talented boxing family: The 25-year-old is trained by his father Eduardo and his brother is noted trainer Robert Garcia. Salido, 32, is putting his five-fight winning streak and 126-pound title belt on the line in what should be an all-action slugfest.
In the middle bout, undefeated Gennady Golovkin (24-0, 21 KOs) from Kazakhstan takes on Philadelphia’s Gabriel Rosado (21-5, 13 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round middleweight title bout. Rising star Golovkin, 30, is making his second American appearance after compiling a flawless record in Europe and scoring an impressive knockout victory in his HBO debut last September. Rosado, 26, currently has a seven-bout win streak.
The opening bout features junior lightweight titleholder Roman Martinez (26-1-1, 16 KOs) of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico battling Juan Carlos Burgos (30-1, 20 KOs) from Tijuana, Mexico in a scheduled 12-round title matchup. An exciting fighter who has only lost to the formidable Ricky Burns, the 29-year-old Martinez recaptured his title last September with a triumph over Miguel Beltran, Jr. The 24-year-old Burgos is the top-rated contender in the division.
