PARIS, (Sept. 29, 2018) – Golf Channel’s Day One coverage of the Ryder Cup from Le Golf National outside Paris on Friday (2:00 a.m. – 12:19 p.m. ET) posted a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 765k average viewers across a 10+ hour telecast, up 12% vs. 2014 (685k, Gleneagles, Scotland, last European Ryder Cup venue). Golf Channel’s average viewership posted 732k persons 2+, up 9% vs. 2014 (673k). Streaming garnered 20.6 million minutes, up 160% vs. 2014 (7.9m) and a 33k average minute audience, up 175% vs. 2014 (12k).
Additional highlights include:
- Television viewership peaked with 1.06 million average viewers from 9:15-9:30 a.m. ET.
- Coverage of the first session of four-ball matches was up 46% vs. 2014 (2-8 a.m. ET, 613k vs. 421k avg. viewers).
- From 2-6 a.m. ET, Golf Channel posted its best average viewership ever in this time period (489k avg. viewers).
- Friday’s streaming average minute audience was up 9% vs. 2016 (29k) at Hazeltine Golf Club outside Minneapolis, the last U.S. Ryder Cup venue.
