McNabb on Johnny Manziel: There are a lot of questions about his durability

FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer on whether the Houston Texans will trade down from the No. 1 pick:“There was a team in the top 10 today that did talk to the Houston Texans. They’ve tried to move up there, and the Houston Texans said, ‘If you want our pick, it’s going to take three No. 1s and a No. 2.’ Apparently they are drinking down there in Houston, because that is an awful lot to ask for. No, no one is giving up three No. 1s and a No. 2.”
FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo thinks it’s a rumor:“It’s real that they are going to want to trade, but I think it’s a rumor that they’re actually going to deal it, because I don’t think that they’re going to be able to find a dance partner. It’s going to be really tough. Maybe the Atlanta Falcons, maybe something could re-kindle tomorrow and they could try and talk to them, but to get up to No. 1 from No. 6, I just don’t see it happening.”

FOX College Football Analyst Joel Klatt on the prospect of South Carolina DE/LB Jadeveon Clowney going No. 1 overall:“Regardless of who selects there, I think that the pick has to be Jadeveon Clowney. He is the most dominant player in this draft, and I believe that he is the type of guy that 10 years from now, you’re going to be looking at as one of the dominant players of the last decade in the NFL. He is too talented, he is too skilled, he can get after the quarterback, and what a lot of people don’t talk about is his ability against the run, because he is actually an elite defender against the run as well.”
Glazer adds his thoughts:“If they don’t take Jadeveon Clowney at No. 1 in Houston, they are out of their minds. I’ve never seen a guy like this. And also, he doesn’t have to be the man there because you have J.J. Watt and you have Brian Cushing. You guys brought it up: this is Bruce Smith, this is Lawrence Taylor, all in one guy. You’re out of your minds, Houston, if you don’t take him.”

Glazer on whether Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel will be selected within the first five picks: “Here is the big thing with Johnny Manziel: he is not going to the Browns, we’ve talked about that. He is not going to the Raiders or the Buccaneers. The thing with Johnny Manziel, is yes, he is the highest-rated quarterback on everybody’s draft board that I have talked to. There is a huge ‘but’ there, and the but is, they look at him and say, ‘He gets hit an awful lot. If we have a guarantee that he could play for 10 years, great, but is he going to get ‘RGIII’d’ because he gets hit so much and we’re renting him for three months?’ That’s what you don’t know, because of his stature and how much he gets hit. Another big thing about Johnny Manziel for a team at No. 2 is that he is a business decision, he is not just a football player.”
FOX Sports Live NFL Analyst Donovan McNabb on the comparison between ‘Johnny Football’ and Russell Wilson: “I think what he also realized late in the season after he got banged up a little bit, is that he needed to get to his old form, and that’s running around in the pocket, trying to buy time for his wide receivers. I know we are trying to compare him and Russell Wilson, but Russell Wilson is a different type of quarterback, a pocket-passer first. He understands what he can do with his legs, and if Johnny learns that, maybe he protects his body more, but at this point, there are a lot of questions about his durability.”

University of Buffalo LB Khalil Mack joined the Radio City Music Hall set during AMERICA’S PREGAME and explained why he’s the best player in the NFL Draft: “They see the film. They know I’m a hard worker and they know that I am a guy that can get on the field and make plays. But even then, it’s all about being a football player and this process is just the first step. Even if I am the first pick, so what? I’ve got to go out there and prove myself, and that’s what I’m ready to do.”
