FOUR DIVISION LEADERS TAKE THE NHL NETWORK-U.S. SPOTLIGHT AS THURSDAY’S “GAME OF THE WEEK,” FEATURING WASHINGTON @ CAROLINA, LAUNCHES FIVE GAMES IN THREE DAYS
NEW YORK (March 13, 2013) – The Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks, who lead their respective divisions, will be in the spotlight as the NHL Network-U.S. airs five live games over the next three days beginning with tomorrow’s “Game of the Week” featuring the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals in a Southeast Division match-up. The Hurricanes, who won the opener of the set 4-0 last night, host the Capitals at PNC Arena beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “There’s a certain ‘old-school’ element each time you get division rivals together in a home-and-home series. Throw in the urgency for the Capitals at this stage of the season and it should make for a thrilling rematch. Washington needs a win and Carolina wants to pad their division lead. Lots of subplots in a very intriguing matchup!” – Steve Mears, co-host of CISCO NHL LIVE.
