ESPN’s MLB Spring Training Lineup: Marlins at Red Sox to Lead Off March 12
10-Game Schedule Includes Yankees/Red Sox in Prime Time; Francona’s Debut with Sunday Night Team
ESPN will present 10 Major League Baseball Spring Training telecasts beginning with the new-look Miami Marlins and All-Star shortstop Jose Reyes facing the Boston Red Sox and All-Star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez on Monday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m. ET. The matchup will also feature two of the game’s most charismatic managers with new clubs – Miami’s Ozzie Guillen and Boston’s Bobby Valentine. Marlins/Red Sox will be available on ESPN, ESPN3, ESPN Mobile TV and WatchESPN.
ESPN’s Spring Training schedule will feature a primetime showdown between American League heavyweights when the New York Yankees meet the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, March 22, at 7 p.m. In addition, Terry Francona will debut with the Sunday Night Baseball team – alongside Dan Shulman and Orel Hershiser – on Monday, March 19, to call the Detroit Tigers vs. Philadelphia Phillies game at 1 p.m.
Additional Spring Training highlights:
ü three appearances by the Yankees, Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies;
ü two appearances by the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays;
ü an appearance by the Los Angeles Angels, with recently acquired Albert Pujols.
All ESPN Spring Training telecasts will be presented by Gillette.
#BBTN: Baseball Tonight is on the road for the Baseball Tonight Goodyear Express Tour, visiting Spring Training destinations in both Arizona and Florida through March 26.
