At 2:10 p.m. ET on Friday, the Miami Marlins and Dee Gordon will visit the Chicago Cubs and Kris Bryant. At 6 p.m., ESPN will air the first of two holiday weekend matchups in Washington D.C. between the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants – led by Buster Posey – and the Washington Nationals and Bryce Harper. In the nightcap, east meets west as the New York Mets will visit the Los Angeles Dodgers and expected starting pitcher, ace Clayton Kershaw, at 10 p.m.
Baseball Tonight is hitting the road for a special on-site show in the Nation’s Capital on Friday, July 3, at 1:30 p.m. prior to the holiday tripleheader. The Baseball Tonight set will be located atop the U.S. Chamber of Commerce building, which overlooks the White House. Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet will also be on site at Nationals Park prior to Sunday Night Baseball, July 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
The Baseball Tonight crew will then host the Esurance All-Star Starters Selection Show on ESPN from 7:30-8 p.m. During the telecast, the 2015 MLB All-Star starters will be revealed, leading in to Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell.
ESPN will air Esurance All-Star Selection Show prior to Monday Night Baseball presented by USAA on July 6 at 7 p.m. On Monday’s selection show, the 2015 MLB All-Star reserves will be announced.
The Sunday Night Baseball telecast team – Dan Shulman, analysts Curt Schilling and John Kruk and reporter Buster Olney – will pull double duty on July 4 weekend. The crew will call both matchups between the Giants and Nationals. The weekend will culminate with Giants-Nationals on Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell, July 5, at 8 p.m.
John Kruk Teams with Davisson Brothers Band for Musical Open
John Kruk, ESPN Sunday Night Baseball analyst and former Major Leaguer, has joined forces with country music superstars Davisson Brothers Band to record a special track, titled ‘Right Here on ESPN,’ for the ESPN broadcast opens during July 4 weekend. Kruk provides vocals for the song, which will serve as a slice of Americana and focus on baseball and the Independence Day holiday.
