ESPN Radio’s 21st consecutive NBA season will showcase 29 regular-season games and tips off Tuesday, Oct. 27, when NBA MVP Steph Curry and the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors host Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans on Opening Night at 9:30 p.m. ET (start of broadcast window).
ESPN Radio will again broadcast a Christmas Day doubleheader featuring Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls visiting Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder at 1:30 p.m., followed immediately by the marquee matchup of last year’s NBA Finals: Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James at the Warriors.
ESPN Radio will also be the exclusive national broadcast home of NBA All-Star events, including the 65th NBA All-Star Game from Toronto, the NBA Playoffs and the NBA Finals.
All broadcasts will be available on ESPN Radio, ESPNRadio.com and the ESPN app.
Kevin Calabro will return as ESPN Radio’s primary play-by-play voice, alongside analyst Jon Barry, with Marc Kestecher (commentator) and PJ Carlesimo (analyst) also calling games. In addition, Kara Lawson, who served as a part-time analyst for ESPN Radio last year, will return for select games.
Additional schedule highlights:
- Two rematches of last year’s NBA Finals between the Warriors and Cavaliers – Christmas Day and January 18;
- A game between the Warriors and Houston Rockets — last season’s NBA Western Conference Finals teams;
- Four All-Star specials, including the 65th NBA All-Star Game in Toronto;
- Nine games, each, for the Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder; seven appearances by six-time NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs; six Chicago Bulls tilts; and five Los Angeles Clippers games.
