Bud Light, Fruit of the Loom and Toyota join roster of sponsors
ESPN unveiled today the roster of sponsors for X Games Austin, taking place June 4-7 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, with live coverage on ESPN and ABC. Bud Light and Toyota join the list of official sponsors alongside returning brands America’s Navy, GoPro, Harley-Davidson and Monster Energy. Additional sponsors include 7UP, DuPont™ Kevlar®, FRAM ®, Oakley, Skype and Fruit of the Loom, which is sponsoring the event for the first time this year.
Elements presented as part of sponsor packages will feature on-site activations as well as rights to official marks and logos. Additionally, sponsors receive a media presence during the event telecasts and in the X Games preview in ESPN The Magazine, prominent positions across X Games digital and social platforms, and VIP hospitality experiences on-site.
The competition and festivities will kick off with a flyover by America’s Navy. Beyond hosting athlete autograph sessions, America’s Navy will also give fans the opportunity to meet members of its spec warfare team and welcome fans to check out their equipment, to take on the Navy Warrior Challenge (pull-up competition) and to test their skills on the Navy Robotics Challenge Course.
GoPro, the official camera sponsor, will host daily giveaways and athlete signings, in addition to its continued integration into broadcast to provide unique perspectives to bring the television audience closer to the action.
Meanwhile, Bud Light will bring its House of Whatever, from the #UpForWhatever campaign, to the event, where they will spontaneously select and surprise a fan with unique experiences. Monster Energy, the official energy drink sponsor of X Games Austin, will be featuring athlete autograph signings, brand ambassadors and an outdoor lounge for fans at the Galleria, X Games Austin’s sponsor village.
In addition to sponsoring the event’s inaugural Flat-Track Racing competition, Harley-Davidson will be in the Galleria offering LiveWire JUMPSTART™ riding experiences, hosting appearances by X Games athletes and providing fans an opportunity to enter the Choose Your Ride Sweepstakes to win a 2016 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle of their choice.
Toyota, which is supporting the event for the first time as the official automotive sponsor, will feature activations that will allow fans to interact with several of Toyota’s most popular vehicles, including stops at the Tacoma 180 Photo Booth, the Corolla Spin to Win station, the RAV4 Skee Ball area, the Tundra Dye Sublimation Station and the 4Runner Fuel Your Adventure area.
Also joining the roster of sponsors is Fruit of the Loom, which will challenge fans to put the “tuck to the test,” wearing the redesigned, stay-tucked undershirt while riding a mechanical bull. Tuck testers can compete with their friends to make it on the leaderboard with the top riders for the weekend.
Additional brands participating in X Games Austin include 7UP, which is hosting the Sound Factory Stage Powered by 7UP, DuPont™ Kevlar®, FRAM, Oakley and Skype. DuPont™ Kevlar® will feature appearances by athletes to highlight the use of DuPont™ Kevlar® in high-performance sporting equipment.
