GAME 6 – (1) CANADIENS-(2) LIGHTNING – TOMORROW AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – LIGHTNING LEAD 3-2
The Canadiens face the Lightning in Game 6 with hopes of extending their series, and a chance at a Game 7 at home, with a win tomorrow night in Tampa. Montreal has fought back after trailing 3-0 in the series, with a 6-2 win in Game 4 in Tampa, and a 2-1 win in Montreal in Game 5. Canadiens forward P.A. Parenteau netted the eventual Game 5-winner with 4:07 remaining in the third period of Game 5 on Saturday night.
A win tomorrow would give the Canadiens an opportunity to host the Lightning in Game 7, and the chance to become only the fifth team in NHL history to win a series after trailing 3-0. If the Lightning win, they will move on to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since 2010, when they lost to the Boston Bruins in seven games.
Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Joe Micheletti (analyst) and Emmy Award-winning Inside-the-Glass analyst Pierre McGuire will call the action from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 13
GAME 7 – (2) CAPITALS-(1) RANGERS – WEDNESDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – SERIES TIED 3-3
Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers look to complete their second straight comeback from a 3-1 second-round series deficit in as many years on Wednesday night, when they host Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Following defenseman Ryan McDonagh’s overtime-winner on Friday night to give the Rangers a 2-1 win in Game 5, Chris Kreider scored twice and Henrik Lundqvist stopped 42 shots as the Rangers held on for a 4-3 win in Game 6 last night in Washington.
The Capitals are 4-9 in Game 7s since 1987, while the Rangers have won five straight Game 7s since 2012. Washington has already won a Game 7 this year, defeating the Islanders by a score of 2-1 in Game 7 in the first round. Last year, the Rangers erased a 3-1 series deficit against the Penguins to win their second-round series against Pittsburgh.
Three-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator and Sports Illustrated 2014 Media Person of the Year Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk, and Emmy Award-winning Inside-the-Glass analyst Pierre McGuire will call the action from the Madison Square Garden in New York.
