NEW EDITION OF CAPITALS CENTRAL TO DEBUT TONIGHT AT 6:30 P.M., FOLLOWED BY CAPITALS COUNTDOWN AT 7 P.M.
BETHESDA, Md. – April 27, 2016 – CSN Mid-Atlantic will provide comprehensive multiplatform coverage of the Washington Capitals’ 2016 second-round playoff series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, highlighted by at least 2 hours of live gameday coverage on Capitals Pregame Live, Capitals Postgame Live and #CapitalsTalk.
CSN will continue to deliver extensive Capitals coverage each day across its television and digital media platforms, including CSNmidatlantic.com. In addition, a pair of second-round specials will debut tonight (Wednesday, April 27) on CSN: Capitals Central at 6:30 p.m. and Capitals Countdown at 7 p.m.
PREGAME AND POSTGAME SHOWS
CSN will present live pregame and postgame news, analysis and opinion before and after every playoff contest. One- hour editions of Capitals Pregame Live will precede every second-round matchup, beginning at 7 p.m. for Games 1-4 (8 p.m.) Extended versions of Capitals Postgame Live will air immediately following all seven potential contests.
CSN’s exclusive gameday shows will be hosted by Al Koken, with analysts Alan May and Brent Johnson, both former Capitals, and social media correspondent Courtney Laughlin. CSN’s Capitals game announcers, play-by-play commentator Joe Beninati and analyst Craig Laughlin, will also contribute to gameday coverage.
#CapitalsTalk, which premiered last month, will be presented live following Capitals Postgame Live every gameday for at least a half hour. The high-energy talk and debate show, which includes viewer contributions via social media, covers the most compelling topics and important issues facing the team that day. Hosted by Sebastian Salazar, #CapitalsTalk analysts will include Tarik El-Bashir, Craig Laughlin, Courtney Laughlin and 106.7 the Fan’s Grant Paulsen.
NEWS AND TALK PROGRAMS
CSN’s daily news program, Geico SportsNet Central, will offer expanded Capitals news, features and interviews throughout the playoffs at 6 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. (times may vary based on game schedule), led by Jill Sorenson, CSN’s Capitals TV beat reporter. In addition, SportsTalk Live with Brian Mitchell will continue to feature extensive commentary, debate and interviews on weekdays throughout the postseason after #CapitalsTalk.
Capitals Central, CSN’s weekly magazine program, will debut a special second-round edition tonight (Wednesday, April 27) at 6:30 p.m. featuring Sorenson, May, and Capitals Insider Chuck Gormley. The Capitals’ top moments of the season, including best goals and biggest saves, will be highlighted on Capitals Countdown, which will premiere tonight at 7 p.m. following Capitals Central. Both programs will encore multiple times.
