Del Negro played 12 NBA seasons for the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. He worked in the Suns’ front office as pro personnel director and assistant general manager for two seasons before being named head coach of the Chicago Bulls in 2008. In 2010 Del Negro was named head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, taking over the helm of a team coming off four consecutive losing seasons. In his second year with the franchise the Clippers played their way to the Western Conference semifinals. In 2012-13, his final year with the team, the Clippers finished with a 56-26 record, to that point the most wins in franchise history. He was an All-ACC guard his senior year at NC State and led the Wolfpack to an ACC Tournament title in 1987.
Mahorn was one of the standouts on the Detroit Pistons’ famous “Bad Boys” teams of the 1980s and helped the franchise win a NBA title in 1989 alongside Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, John Salley and others. He was drafted in 1980 after an All-American career at Hampton University and played for the Washington Bullets, Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Nets over 18 seasons. After his playing career he became an assistant coach for the Detroit Shock of the WNBA and helped guide the team to two WBNA Championship titles. He became the team’s head coach in 2009. Today he serves as the color commentator for Pistons radio broadcasts.
Scalabrine was a first-team All-Pac-10 center for the USC Trojans before being drafted by the New Jersey Nets in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft. He played four seasons with the Nets before signing with the Boston Celtics, with whom he won a NBA Championship in 2008. He finished his career with the Chicago Bulls and went on to become an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors before embarking on a broadcasting career.
