STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 4, 2020 – The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Championship will be decided at Phoenix Raceway this Sunday on NBC, with NASCAR America pre-race coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET. A special hour-long edition of Countdown to Green will air at 2 p.m. ET, leading into the start of the Championship race shortly after 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

The NASCAR Cup Series Championship is a highlight of NBC Sports’ “Big Event Weekend,” featuring the Breeders’ Cup Classic (Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC), No. 1 Clemson at No. 4 Notre Dame (Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC), Liverpool v. Manchester City (Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET on Peacock Premium) and Tom Brady and the Buccaneers hosting Drew Brees and the Saints on Sunday Night Football (Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC).

Chase Elliott secured a spot in the Championship 4 with his victory at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday. Elliott joined Joey Logano as drivers who automatically advanced to the Championship race with victories, while Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin earned spots in the season finale due to their point totals. The highest finisher among the four remaining contenders at Phoenix will win the Cup Series title.

Host Krista Voda, NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee and 1999 NASCAR Cup Series champion Dale Jarrett and auto racing icon Kyle Petty will provide pre- and post-race studio coverage. Analyst Brad Daugherty will contribute on-site from Phoenix. NBC Sports’ Rutledge Wood will engage fans remotely using #HeyRut on Twitter as well as be joined by ‘Champions’ throughout the weekend, including three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart and the eventual NASCAR Xfinity Series champion.

Pre-race coverage will feature an essay penned by Tim Layden about the historic legacy that seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has left on the sport of NASCAR.

The NBC Toyota Camry On-Track car will return on Sunday, when “The Mayor” of NASCAR, Jeff Burton, will drive around Phoenix Raceway to give viewers an inside look at the unique, one-mile oval where the Championship race will take place.

NBC Sports’ lead NASCAR race announcer Rick Allen will call the Cup Series championship race this weekend from Phoenix Raceway alongside Daytona 500-winning crew chief Steve Letarte, two-time Daytona 500 champion and recent NASCAR Hall of Fame selection Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Burton.

Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast, Dave Burns and Parker Kligerman will serve as pit reporters on-site from Phoenix.

NASCAR XFINITY SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP RACE FROM PHOENIX – SATURDAY AT 4:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Coverage of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship race will begin with Countdown to Green on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, leading into race coverage from Phoenix Raceway at 5 p.m. ET. Last weekend, Harrison Burton won in the Xfinity Series’ return to Martinsville Speedway, marking Burton’s second consecutive victory. Three of the final four Championship drivers were decided by points — Justin Allgaier, Justin Haley and Austin Cindric — joining Chase Briscoe, who secured a spot in the Championship 4 with a win at Kansas Speedway in October.

ENASCAR COCA-COLA IRACING SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP – SUNDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Championship race will be presented on NBCSN Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET immediately following post-race coverage of the real-world NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

The 2020 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Championship will be decided at the season-ending Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Five-time INDYCAR champion Scott Dixon and reigning INDYCAR champion Josef Newgarden will battle for the title on a 1.8-mile street circuit in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Trailing Dixon by only 32 points, Newgarden has an opportunity to win the title over Dixon if he finishes second or better and Dixon finishes 23rd or worse. Dixon, on the other hand, will clinch the championship with a finish of ninth or better, regardless of what Newgarden does.

NBC Sports’ NASCAR Booth Hits the Road for First Time This Season to Call Races at Kansas Speedway

2020 INDYCAR Championship will be Decided in Streets of St. Petersburg in 10 Days – Sunday, October 25 – on NBC

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 15, 2020 – The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs’ Round of 8 will get underway at Kansas Speedway this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET with Countdown to Green on NBC. Green flag for the Hollywood Casino 400 will wave shortly after 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Throughout Sunday’s pre-race and race coverage, NBC Sports’ Rutledge Wood and former NFL player and Super Bowl XLVII champion Bernard Pollard will join the broadcast to discuss Pollard’s newly found passion and love for NASCAR.

The Xfinity Series Playoffs’ Round of 8 will begin at Kansas on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, part of nearly 12 hours of motorsports coverage during the day, which kicks off at 12:30 p.m. ET with the IMSA Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream IMSA coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET, and NBCSN picks up the conclusion of the race at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Following Chase Elliott’s win last Sunday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, the Cup Series Playoffs’ Round of 8 has been finalized. A win by any of the eight remaining contenders over the next three races at Kansas, Texas and Martinsville earns them an automatic berth in the Championship race at Phoenix (Sun., Nov. 8 on NBC).

NASCAR CUP SERIES RACING FROM KANSAS – SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBC

2020 PIT CREW ALL-STARS TO BE RECOGNIZED DURING NASCAR PLAYOFFS

During the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, NBC Sports will salute this year’s Pit Crew All-Stars. This group of unsung heroes – 16 in all, matching the 16 Playoff drivers – comes from the ranks of over-the-wall crew members, engineers, shop employees, hauler drivers, and/or team officials. Throughout the Playoffs, NBC will showcase the All-Stars’ stories, and what makes them and their abilities so special.

IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP PETIT LE MANS AT ROAD ATLANTA – SATURDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The 10-hour Petit Le Mans endurance race from Road Atlanta will be presented live across NBC Sports on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.  NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app provide exclusive streaming coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET, before returning to NBCSN for the conclusion of the race at 9:30 p.m. ET. Flag-to-flag coverage will stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

All four classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will compete on the 12-turn, 2.54-mile Road Atlanta circuit in Braselton, Ga. As the IMSA regulars continue their championship battles, multiple NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers have joined them for Saturday’s race, including five-time INDYCAR champion Scott Dixon, who will compete with fellow past Indy 500 winners Simon Pagenaud, Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay in the DPi class. Additionally, 20-year-old Colton Herta will also compete in the GT Le Mans class.

Nine NBC Sports commentators will contribute to the Petit Le Mans, featuring Leigh Diffey and Kevin Lee (play-by-play), Calvin Fish (analyst), James Hinchcliffe (analyst) and AJ Allmendinger (analyst), who’s coming off a NASCAR Xfinity Series victory at the ROVAL last weekend. INDYCAR on NBC analyst and current IMSA driver Townsend Bell will compete for the No. 12 AIM Vasser Sullivan Lexus team in the GT Daytona class and will also serve as an analyst for portions of the race.

2020 INDYCAR CHAMPIONSHIP – SUNDAY, OCT. 25, AT 2:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

In only 10 days, the 2020 INDYCAR Championship will be decided at the season-ending Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Five-time INDYCAR champion Scott Dixon and reigning INDYCAR champion Josef Newgarden will battle for the title on a 1.8-mile street circuit in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida.

MECUM AUCTIONS DALLAS – COVERAGE BEGINS TODAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

15 hours of Mecum Auctions’ Dallas auction coverage will be presented over the next six days, beginning today at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Highlighted cars that will cross the auction block can be viewed here.

    • NHL Stanley Cup Final: Game 1 of the 2020 Stanley Cup Final between the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning will be presented tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC immediately following U.S. Open coverage from Winged Foot Golf Club.

 

    • NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs: NBC Sports presents the first elimination race of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs tomorrow night in primetime at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN from iconic Bristol Motor Speedway, as the field of 16 narrows to 12 and drivers fight to keep their championship hopes alive. Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, Bristol also hosts the regular season finale for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which has 11 of its 12 Playoff spots decided entering the “World’s Fastest Half Mile.”

 

    • Notre Dame Football: NBC Sports’ 30th season of Notre Dame Football continues tomorrow when the No. 7 Fighting Irish (1-0) host South Florida (1-0) at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind., at 2:30 p.m. ET on USA Network. Following last weekend’s victory over Duke, Notre Dame moved to No. 7 in the country. The Fighting Irish were led last week by QB Ian Book, who passed for 263 yards and one touchdown, and RB Kyren Williams, who totaled 205 yards from scrimmage (112 rushing, 93 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns.

2019 Xfinity Series Playoffs Begin in Richmond This Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – September 17, 2019 – NBC Sports accelerates into the second race of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Round of 16, with more than 12 hours of trackside coverage this week from Richmond Raceway, in Richmond, Va. NBC Sports’ race coverage begins Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with the first race of the Xfinity Series Playoffs, and culminates Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, with racing from the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Round of 16.

Following his fifth victory of the 2019 season this past Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Martin Truex Jr., driver of Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 19 Toyota, officially clinched a spot in the Round of 12 and took over the lead of the Playoff standings with 2,082 points. Of the remaining 15 Playoff drivers, Kevin Harvick (2,079 points) is in second, followed by Joey Logano (2,075 points) in third, Kyle Busch (2,063 points) in fourth, and Brad Keselowski (2,058 points) rounding out the top five.

MONSTER ENERGY NASCAR CUP SERIES RACING FROM RICHMOND RACEWAY – SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN begins coverage of the second Playoff race in the Round of 16 this Friday at 11:30 a.m. ET with first practice live from Richmond Raceway. Final practice begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. An on-site edition of NASCAR America, at 5:30 p.m. ET, leads into qualifying at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Saturday’s race-day coverage begins at 6 p.m. ET with NASCAR America live from the Peacock Pit Box on pit road followed by Countdown to Green at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Live coverage of the Federated Auto Parts 400 begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Wrapping up race-day coverage, NBCSN will present a one-hour post-race show at 11 p.m. ET. Pre-race coverage on NBCSN will be highlighted by a #MyTrackMyRoots Grassroots Racing feature on racing in Virginia voiced by Virginia-native Denny Hamlin.

NBC Sports’ lead race announcer Rick Allen will call the action alongside 21-time Cup Series winner Jeff Burton. Daytona 500 winning crew chief Steve Letarte and two-time Daytona 500 Champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. will provide commentary from a second booth.

NBC Sports’ NASCAR pre-race host Krista Voda, auto racing icon Kyle Petty, and NBC analyst and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett will host NASCAR America as well as all pre- and post-race coverage. Kelli Stavast, Dave Burns, Dillon Welch and Parker Kligerman will provide commentary and interviews from pit-road. Wrapping up race-day coverage, NBCSN will present a half-hour post-race show at 9:30 p.m. ET. Christopher Bell (2,055 points, and 6 wins) is currently atop the Xfinity Series Playoff standings, followed by Cole Custer (2,044 points, 6 wins) and Tyler Reddick (2,044 points, 5 wins) as 12 drivers will begin the seven-race Playoffs in Richmond.

More than 50,000 people participated in last week’s NBC Sports NASCAR Pick ‘Em game at Las Vegas last week and 12 winners split the $50,000 jackpot, earning $4,213.33 each after getting perfect scores in the contest. The jackpot now resets to $10,000 for this weekend’s race in Richmond.

  • For each race stage, pick the driver that will have the best finish from a group of four drivers.
  • Then, out of the entire field, pick which drivers will finish the race in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place – in exact order.

Singer-Songwriter Ben Rector to Open 2018 Awards Show Telecast  

STAMFORD, Conn. – December 13, 2018 – NBCSN will present exclusive coverage of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series and Camping World Truck Series Awards, this Sunday, December 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Honoring 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion Tyler Reddick, 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion Brett Moffitt, and 2018 Xfinity Series Owner’s Champion Stewart Haas Racing, the one-hour telecast will also recognize the Championship Four drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the Camping World Truck Series. In addition, the show will feature presentations of the 2018 Championship four drivers and Sunoco Rookie of the Year from both series.

NASCAR on NBC’s Dave Burns and Motor Racing Network’s Kim Coon host Sunday evening’s awards ceremony, alongside FOX Sports’ Adam Alexander, from the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

Singer-songwriter Ben Rector will open NBCSN’s telecast with a performance of his hit song “Drive.”

The annual awards show took place Saturday, December 8 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
