STAMFORD, Conn. – March 21, 2023 – 2023 U.S. figure skating champions Ilia Malinin and Isabeau Levito headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2023 World Figure Skating Championships this week from Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, across NBC, Peacock, and USA Network. Live coverage begins tonight, Tuesday, March 21, with the pairs’ short program at 10 p.m. ET on Peacock (coverage times for all disciplines in the chart below).

All competition at this week’s World Championships, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

Highlighting the men’s field are 18-year-old phenom Ilia Malinin, coming off a breakout campaign that saw him capture the 2022-23 Grand Prix Final bronze medal and wins at 2022 Skate America and the 2022 Grand Prix Finland, two-time U.S. Olympian Jason Brown, and three-time Olympic medalist and defending world champion Shoma Uno (Japan).

The American women’s team is headlined by 16-year-old rising star Isabeau Levito, the 2022-23 Grand Prix Final silver medalist and 2022 world junior champion, 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic team bronze medalist Bradie Tennell, who earned the silver medal at this year’s U.S. Championships behind Levito, and 2023 U.S. bronze medalist Amber Glenn. On the international side, two-time Olympic medalist and defending world champion Kaori Sakamoto (Japan) leads the field.

In the pairs’ competition, the field is headlined by 2022 world champions Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, who finished sixth at the Beijing Olympics, and 2022-23 Grand Prix Final champions Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara of Japan. In ice dance, three-time Olympians and three-time world medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates seek their first world title, which would be the first for the U.S. in ice dance since Olympic champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White won in 2013.

For the NBC and USA Network telecasts, Terry Gannon handles play-by-play for all disciplines, joined by 1998 Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir.

Every Skater in Every Discipline of Both U.S. and European Championships Will Stream Live on Peacock

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 23, 2023 – 2022 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist and 18-year-old phenom Ilia Malinin and reigning junior world champion Isabeau Levito headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships this week – featuring every skate live on Peacock — beginning tomorrow, Jan. 24, from the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

NBC Sports is set to present over 40 hours of live coverage of the 2023 U.S. Figure Skating Championships this week across Peacock, NBC, and USA Network, starting tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET with the Junior Pairs’ Short on Peacock. NBC will present live coverage windows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while USA Network will present live coverage windows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Coverage of every skater in every discipline will stream live on Peacock throughout the duration of the championship event.

Malinin and Levito highlight NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2023 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, with both skaters looking to earn their first career senior U.S. titles. Malinin, the first skater to land a quadruple Axel, ranks second in the world by best total score this season. Levito, who took silver at the 2022 Grand Prix Final, ranks as the top American woman.

Other notable skaters expected to compete this week include Jason Brown, the lone Olympian in the men’s field and a 2014 Sochi Olympic team bronze medalist, 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic team bronze medalist Bradie Tennell, 2018 U.S. junior champion Camden Pulkinen, and the ice dance team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates. Bates has made 12 career senior national podiums with Chock and former partner Emily Samuelson; a 13th podium finish would break the U.S. record for a single discipline. The U.S. Championships will also feature 2022 pairs’ world champions Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, who are seeking their second U.S. title as a team.

On the NBC and USA Network windows, Terry Gannon will handle play-by-play alongside 1998 Nagano Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski, three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir, and 2006 Torino Olympic silver medalist Ben Agosto as analysts. Andrea Joyce will serve as reporter.

2023 EUROPEAN FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS

NBC Sports presents live coverage of the 2023 European Figure Skating Championships from Espoo Metro Areena in Espoo, Finland, beginning this Wednesday, Jan. 25, with the pairs’ short at 6:15 a.m. ET on Peacock. More than 25 hours of live coverage will be presented across Peacock and E! this week, with every skater in every discipline streamed live on Peacock.

2022 world silver medalist and two-time Olympian Loena Hendrickx (Belgium), 2022 European silver medalist Daniel Grassl (Italy), two-time Olympian Deniss Vasiljevs (Latvia), and 2022 Beijing Olympians Adam Siao Him Fa (France) and Anastasia Gubanova (Georgia) highlight the elite European field that’s expected to compete this week. The ice dance team of Charlène Guignard and Marco Fabbri, who have represented Italy at three consecutive Olympics, are expected to vie for their first European title.

On the E! windows, Steve Schlanger will handle play-by-play and 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic team bronze medalist Adam Rippon will serve as analyst.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 7, 2022 – 2022 Skate America and Grand Prix Finland champion Ilia Malinin and reigning world junior champion Isabeau Levito highlight NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022 Grand Prix Final, the championship event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating season, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 8, at 1:15 p.m. ET live on Peacock from Torino Palavela in Torino, Italy. The entire competition, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

Live coverage of the competition streams exclusively on Peacock starting tomorrow at 1:15 p.m. ET and continues Friday at 11:30 a.m. ET (Peacock) and Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET (Peacock and E!). On Saturday, E! will present three hours of continuous coverage starting with encore coverage of the Men’s Short program at 6:30 a.m. ET, followed by live coverage of the Men’s Free program at 7:30 a.m. ET and encore presentation of the Women’s Short program at 8:30 a.m. ET.

An encore highlights presentation will air on NBC on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. ET. Terry Gannon will handle play-by-play while 1998 Nagano Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir will serve as analysts. For Saturday’s shows on E!, Andrea Joyce will handle play-by-play for the Men’s and Women’s Short programs, while Gannon will serve as play-by-play for the Men’s Free. Lipinski and Weir will serve as analysts for all three.

The U.S. contingent competing in Torino is headlined by Malinin and Levito. Malinin has had a breakout year in his debut on the senior Grand Prix circuit, with his winning score of 280.37 at Skate America ranking as the best men’s score of the season. The 15-year-old rising star Levito has notched a pair of second place finishes at Skate America and Grand Prix Great Britain in her first season competing on the senior level. The pairs’ skating duo of Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, who won both Skate America and Grand Prix Great Britain, look to finish strong in a year that saw them take gold at the World Championships and a team medal at the Beijing Olympics. Three-time U.S. champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates will compete in the ice dance field this weekend.

The U.S. is set to compete against a strong international field highlighted by three-time Olympic medalist Shoma Uno (Japan). The reigning world champion won Skate Canada and Grand Prix Japan for his seventh and eighth career Grand Prix victories.  Beijing Olympic bronze medalist Kaori Sakamoto (Japan), 2022 world silver medalist Loena Hendrickx (Belgium), and the 2021 world bronze medalist ice dance team of Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier (Canada) are also expected to compete this weekend.

NBC Sports and U.S. Figure Skating announced the schedule for the 2022-23 figure skating season, featuring more than 200 hours of coverage from October to April, including the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships and the ISU World Figure Skating Championships.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 23, 2022 – NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022-23 figure skating season continues this weekend with 2022 Grand Prix Finland, the penultimate event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, beginning Friday, Nov. 25, at 6 a.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock from Espoo Metro Arena in Espoo, Finland. The entire competition, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

The U.S. boasts a strong field traveling to Finland, highlighted by 2022 U.S. silver medalist Ilia Malinin, the 17-year-old phenom who this fall became the first skater in history to land a quad Axel jump, and who won 2022 Skate America in his senior Grand Prix debut in October. Joining Malinin this weekend is 2018 Pyeongchang team bronze medalist Bradie Tennell and 2018 U.S. junior champion Camden Pulkinen, who finished fifth at the 2022 World Championships. The Beijing Olympic ice dance team of Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker is also expected to compete. Hawayek and Baker, as well as Malinin, can qualify for December’s Grand Prix Final with strong performances this weekend.

The U.S. is set to compete against a strong international field led by two-time Olympian Loena Hendrickx (Belgium). The first-ever World and Grand Prix medalist in the women’s discipline for Belgium, she won 2022 Grand Prix France earlier this month – her first Grand Prix gold medal. Two-time Olympians Keegan Messing (Canada) and Moris Kvitelashvili (Georgia) are also expected to compete this weekend in the men’s event, along with the 2021 world bronze medalists Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier (Canada) in ice dance.

An encore highlights presentation of 2022 Grand Prix Finland will air on NBC on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 3:30 p.m. ET. Terry Gannon will handle play-by-play while 1998 Nagano Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir will serve as analysts for Sunday’s show on NBC.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 16, 2022 – NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022-23 figure skating season continues this weekend with 2022 Grand Prix Japan, the fifth event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock from Makomanai Ice Arena in Sapporo, Japan. The entire competition, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

The U.S. field traveling to Sapporo is highlighted by the ice dance team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates, the Beijing Olympic duo who won the gold medal at 2022 Skate America in October. Competing together since 2011, the prolific partners have won one Olympic medal and three World Championship medals in their nearly-12-year tenure together. Other notable Americans expected to compete include Starr Andrews and Amber Glenn in the women’s field. Andrews recently became the first Black woman from the United States to medal in a singles event in the Grand Prix era with her silver medal performance at 2022 Skate Canada, and Glenn won her first career Grand Prix medal in October – a bronze. Both women have a chance to qualify for the Grand Prix Final in December.

Reigning pairs’ world champions Alexa Knierim and Brendan Frazier, both 2022 Beijing Olympic team medalists, along with 2018 Pyeongchang team bronze medalist and two-time U.S. champion Bradie Tennell, highlight the U.S. field expected to compete this weekend. Tennell is joined in the women’s field by rising U.S. star Isabeau Levito, who finished second at Skate America last month. Knierim and Frazier, who won Skate America and are the first U.S. pair to win a world title since 1979, can secure their spot in December’s Grand Prix Final with a strong showing this weekend.

You Young (South Korea), who finished sixth overall at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, leads a competitive international contingent at 2022 Grand Prix Great Britain. Beijing Olympians Daniel Grassl (Italy), Moris Kvitelashvili (Georgia), Anastasiya Gubanova (Georgia), and Deniss Vasiljevs (Latvia) are also expected to compete.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 3, 2022 – NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022-23 figure skating season continues this weekend with 2022 Grand Prix France, beginning Friday, Nov. 4, at 8 a.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock from Angers IceParc in Angers, France. The entire competition, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

The 2021 U.S. junior national champion ice dance team of Katarina Wolfkostin and Jeffrey Chen, who also took bronze at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, along with 2019 U.S. junior silver medalist Audrey Shin, headline the American athletes expected to compete this weekend. 2022 Beijing Olympians Kim Ye-Lim (South Korea), Olga Mikutina (Austria), Adam Siao Him Fa (France), and Loena Hendrickx (Belgium) highlight the international contingent at this weekend’s competition. Hendrickx, the 2022 world silver medalist in women’s singles, is the first-ever World and Grand Prix medalist from Belgium. The ice dance field will feature three-time Olympians Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri of Italy.

NBC Sports Presents More Than 200 Hours of Figure Skating Coverage from October to April

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 27, 2022 – NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022-23 figure skating season continues this weekend with 2022 Skate Canada, beginning Friday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock from Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The entire competition, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

World junior bronze medalist Lindsay Thorngren, who is set to make her senior Grand Prix debut this weekend, along with 2018 U.S. junior champion Camden Pulkinen, who finished fifth at the 2022 World Championships, are expected to headline the men’s and women’s individual events for the Americans. Jimmy Ma and the ice dance team of Caroline Green and Michael Parsons are among the others expected to compete for the U.S.

On the international side, Olympic medalists Shoma Uno (Japan), Gabby Daleman (Canada), and Riku Miura/Ryuichi Kihara (Japan) are all expected to compete this weekend. Uno won two medals at the Beijing Olympics, including bronze in men’s singles, and a month later won his first career world title at the 2022 World Championships.

NBC Sports Presents More Than 200 Hours of Figure Skating Coverage from October to April

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 19, 2022 – Reigning world junior champion Ilia Malinin headlines NBC Sports’ coverage of 2022 Skate America this weekend, beginning Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:20 p.m. ET live on Peacock from Tenley E. Albright Performance Center in Norwood, Mass. The entire competition, including every skater in every discipline, can be streamed live on Peacock.

Live coverage of 2022 Skate America continues on NBC on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. ET and on USA Network at 8 p.m. ET. On Sunday, E! presents live coverage of Skate America at 2 p.m. ET.

Malinin, who won the 2022 World Junior Championships, along with Beijing Winter Olympian Cha Jun-Hwan (South Korea) and 2022 European Championships silver medalist Daniel Grassl (Italy) are expected to headline the men’s event. 2022 world champion and Beijing Olympic bronze medalist Kaori Sakamoto (Japan) highlights the women’s field. Reigning world junior champion Isabeau Levito leads a strong U.S. women’s contingent which also features 2021 U.S. silver medalist Amber Glenn and 2014 Sochi Olympic team bronze medalist Gracie Gold.

The ice dance field is highlighted by three-time U.S. champions and reigning world bronze medalists Madison Chock and Evan Bates and Beijing Olympians Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker, as well as Japan’s Daisuke Takahashi and Kana Muramoto, the former of whom won the men’s event in 2005, 2007, and 2010.

For all TV coverage this weekend (which is simulstreamed on Peacock), Terry Gannon handles play-by-play, joined by 1998 Nagano Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski, three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir, and three-time world medalist Kaitlyn Weaver. Andrea Joyce will be the on-site reporter.

NBC SPORTS AND U.S. FIGURE SKATING ANNOUNCE 2022-23 SCHEDULE; PEACOCK TO STREAM EVERY EVENT LIVE

Season Kicks Off with Live Coverage of Skate America Friday, Oct. 21-Sunday, Oct. 23 Across NBC, USA Network, E! and Peacock

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., and STAMFORD, Conn. (October 6, 2022) — NBC Sports and U.S. Figure Skating announced today the schedule for the 2022-23 figure skating season. From October to April, NBC Sports and Peacock will provide more than 200 hours of coverage.

Beginning with Skate America, NBC Sports will present more than 30 hours of figure skating coverage on NBC, with an additional 50 hours airing on USA Network and E!. Coverage will showcase the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships, ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series (including Skate America), ISU World Championships, ISU Four Continents Championships and the ISU European Championships.

As the exclusive streaming home of U.S. Figure Skating, Peacock will stream coverage of every skate throughout the 2022-23 season.

NBC Sports will kick off its Grand Prix Series coverage with 2022 Skate America, set for Oct. 21-23 in Norwood, Mass. The entire competition will be streamed live on Peacock, with more than 10 hours of live coverage on NBC, USA Network and E! over the weekend. Coverage of the Grand Prix Series will conclude with the Grand Prix Final recap show on Dec. 11.

NBC Sports’ four-day coverage of the 2023 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships, which will be held Jan. 26-29, 2023, in San Jose, Calif., features live coverage of every discipline, including live coverage of the women’s short program on Thursday, Jan. 26 (USA Network and Peacock) and women’s free skate on Friday, Jan. 27 (NBC and Peacock). The men’s competition will feature two live shows on NBC and Peacock on Saturday, Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 29. The Skating Spectacular show will air Sunday, Feb. 5.

Additionally, NBC and E! will televise 10 hours of the ISU European Figure Skating Championships, and NBC, USA Network, and E! will provide 10 hours of the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.

NBC and USA Network will cover 15 hours of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships, which are set for March 21-25, in Saitama, Japan.
