STAMFORD, Conn. – November 29, 2017 – NBC’s Sunday Night Football features a battle of NFC heavyweights, as Carson Wentz and the NFL-best Philadelphia Eagles (10-1) travel to Seattle, Wash., to face Russell Wilson and the Seahawks (7-4). Coverage begins with Football Night in America this Sunday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. ET, on NBC.
Eagles-Seahawks on NBC’s Sunday Night Football will play a pivotal role in determining NFC Playoff seeding with just five weeks remaining in the regular season. The Eagles currently hold the No. 1 seed with three conference games remaining, including a Week 14 showdown with the Los Angeles Rams (8-3). The Seahawks sit behind Atlanta (7-4) for the second wild card spot in the NFC. The Falcons defeated Seattle in Week 11.
Philadelphia carries a nine-game winning streak into Seattle following a 31-3 win over Chicago on Sunday. Wentz has thrown for 2,657 yards, a league-high 28 touchdowns and five interceptions. He is the third quarterback in NFL history to have thrown for 28 touchdowns and no more than five interceptions through 11 games, joining Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Eagles have also won their last three games by more than 28 points – a first in franchise history.
Seattle responded from its Week 11 loss to Atlanta with a 24-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Over the past five seasons, Seattle (19-5) owns the best record in the final month of the regular season, which also includes regular-season games played in January. With the victory, Wilson improved to 23-4 in his career in games following an in-season loss, the best record by a starting quarterback in that category since the 1970 merger. The Seahawks are one of five teams in the NFL to rank in the top 10 in both offense (8th) and defense (8th). Bobby Wagner ranks first among all linebackers with a grade of 98.5 and has missed just one tackle all season (fewest in NFL), according to Pro Football Focus.
Sunday’s game marks the 16th game between the two franchises and the first time they will meet on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Seattle holds the edge in the all-time series, 8-7, and has won the last three games.
Calling Eagles-Seahawks are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 32nd season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.
NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff.
Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, is hosted by Mike Tirico, who will report on-site from CenturyLink Field, and Dan Patrick, who will host from Studio 1 at NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Paul Burmeister will report from Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La., on Panthers-Saints.
Week 13 kicks off tomorrow on NBC, as Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins travel to Arlington, Texas, for an NFC East showdown with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys from AT&T Stadium on Thursday Night Football. Both teams are 5-6 and need a victory to stay in the NFC Playoff race. Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. ET with Football Night in Dallas on NBC, the only network with two primetime NFL packages.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING: Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 10-15 and 17. Additionally, in Weeks 5-9, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-15, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time. Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday, Saturday or Monday nights.
A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 1. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
