NEW YORK (May 12, 2011) – Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli will be today’s guest on NHL Hour With Commissioner Gary Bettman on NHL.com and SIRIUS XM Radio at 6 p.m. ET. The show, live from San Jose’s HP Pavilion, will be co-hosted by the ‘Voice of the Sharks’, Dan Rusanowsky.
Chiarelli, in his fifth year with the Bruins, has guided the team to its fourth consecutive post-season, the team’s longest stretch since its NHL-record span of 29 consecutive years from 1968-1996. The last time the Bruins advanced to the Conference Final was in 1992 when they faced the eventual Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
After sweeping the Philadelphia Flyers in their Conference Semifinal, the fifth-seeded Bruins hold home ice advantage against the Tampa Bay Lightning, a series that starts on Saturday, May 14 at TD Garden in Boston. This is the first time the Lightning and Bruins will meet in a playoff series.
NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman broadcasts live on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on NHL Home Ice (XM Channel 92 and on SIRIUS Channel 207 as part of the “Best of XM” programming package) and NHL.com. The show will re-air on SIRIUS XM Radio, with archived shows available for download via podcast on NHL.com.
