THE POSTSEASON BECKONS; REDS, RANGERS PLAY POTENTIAL DIVISION CLINCHING GAMES – The FOX SATURDAY BASEBALL GAME OF THE WEEK kicks off coverage of its penultimate weekend of regular season MLB action on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 4:00 PM ET. With playoff positioning on their minds, Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees look to put the Red Sox away for good when these historical rivals hookup in the Bronx. In San Diego, the Padres hope to remain in the tight NL playoff race when they host the NL Central-leading Reds. This week, the pregame show originates live from PETCO Park in San Diego with host Chris Rose. Once game action begins, Rose joins Mark Grace in the booth to call play-by-play of Cincinnati’s potential division-clinching game.
FOX Sports, at the request of FOX Sports Southwest and the Texas Rangers, has added Saturday’s Rangers at Oakland Athletics game to its FOX SATURDAY BASEBALL GAME OF THE WEEK schedule. The game was not scheduled for broadcast on any outlet, so the move enables Rangers fans throughout the region to view what could potentially be the Rangers’ A.L. West division clinching game.

BRIAN BILLICK ON ANDY REID’S DECISION TO START MICHAEL VICK SUNDAY IN JACKSONVILLE: “I’m surprised Andy Reid declared Michael Vick the starter. He seemed very resolved about starting Kevin Kolb against Jacksonville,” said NFL on FOX analyst Brian Billick. “It seems like these conversations should have gone on within the Eagles organization before Reid said anything publicly about starting Kolb and Vick. Vick’s a dynamic player and it looks like he’s able to operate within the pocket now, but I’m a little surprised Andy Reid made the choice to go with him this week.”
BILLICK: FALCONS HAVE LEGIT SHOT TO UPSET SUPER BOWL CHAMP THIS WEEKEND — “Atlanta is coming off a really solid performance against Arizona where they found that they have a great one-two punch with Michael Turner and Jason Snelling,” said NFL on FOX analyst Brian Billick. “Drew Brees continues to play at a high level each and every week so it’s important that Atlanta protect the ball and avoid turnovers. If they can do that, we’re going to have an exciting game in New Orleans and the Falcons will have a shot to pull off the upset over the Saints.”
