NFL Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month – Game Broadcast on Telemundo in Select Markets
NEW YORK – Sept. 21, 2011 – Ben Roethlisberger and the defending AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts on Sunday Night Football.
Calling Steelers-Colts will be six-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his 26th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 12-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who won the Emmy for outstanding event analyst in both of his seasons in the Sunday Night Football booth; and sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, in her first season on SNF.
Coverage begins Sunday with Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET with 22-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Costas hosting the program live from inside the stadium. Costas is joined on site by Michaels and Collinsworth for reaction to the afternoon games.
Dan Patrick co-hosts Football Night from Studio 8G at NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza studios and is joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, Peter King of Sports Illustrated and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk on NBCSports.com. Alex Flanagan will report from Soldier Field in Chicago on the Packers-Bears game.

NFL, TELEMUNDO & NBC SPORTS TEAM TO CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
TELEMUNDO STATIONS TO BROADCAST STEELERS-COLTS GAME: The NFL, Telemundo and NBC Sports have teamed for a unique broadcast for viewers of this week’s Sunday Night Football game. Telemundo will broadcast the game – its first of three Sunday Night Football games this season — on its Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco/San Jose and Washington stations.
NBC Sports’ Sunday Night Football production team will partner with Deportes Telemundo to broadcast the game from Indianapolis in two languages – English and Spanish. Deportes Telemundo will provide its own Spanish-speaking award-winning commentators, Jessi Losada, Rene Giraldo and Edgar Lopez.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Telemundo will air an NFL Hispanic Heritage Month special on September 25 at 7:30 PM ET leading in to the Sunday Night Football broadcast.

NFL TURNING POINT AIRS TOMORROW ON VERSUS AT SPECIAL 9 p.m. ET START TIME
NFL Turning Point, VERSUS’ new weekly show co-produced by NFL Films and the NBC Sports Group, continues this Thursday with a special 9 p.m. ET airing. The show will also air at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The hour-long program, hosted by Football Night in America’s Dan Patrick, will air throughout the NFL regular season and will focus on the crucial ‘turning point’ moment in several games for football fans each week in a more in-depth way than ever before by utilizing NFL Films’ unmatched cinematography and sideline and on-field audio.

“SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL” VIEWERSHIP NOTES
SNF STARTS STRONG: NBC’s three-game average viewership of 25.4 million is up over last year’s 25.3 million for NBC’s opening two weeks of the NFL season, the best start in the six-year history of Sunday Night Football, and the best start to a season for a primetime package in 17 years (25.5 million for ABC in 1994).
· The three-game average household rating of 15.2/25 is up one percent from last year (15.1/25) and the best through the first two weeks of the NFL season for a primetime package in 12 years (15.7/26 in 1999 on ABC).
· The critically acclaimed Football Night in America is averaging 10.7 million viewers and a household rating of 6.6/11 (7:30-8:15 p.m. ET) through the first two weeks, up 12 percent and 14 percent, respectively, from last year’s first two weeks.
SNF NO. 1 SHOW OF THE WEEK: For the second straight week Sunday Night Football was the No. 1 primetime broadcast of the week among viewers, households and all the key demos.
SNF 3-FOR-3: With 23.4 million viewers for Eagles-Falcons, Sunday Night Football starts the season three-for-three versus its competition. This continues a trend for SNF dominating Sunday nights. Last season, “Sunday Night Football” was the No. 1 show all 18 nights (100 percent) vs. its competition (16 Sundays, one Tuesday and one Thursday).
