SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nev., June 2 – Active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, military retirees, and veterans can receive complimentary tickets for the 32nd annual American Century Championship July 7-11, 2021 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
The tournament honors all active and retired service people with one complimentary ticket and one complimentary guest ticket for the day of choice, Wednesday through Sunday, July 7–11. The offer also extends to reservists, National Guard, and veterans. All qualifying individuals may request tickets at https://verify.sheerid.com/americancenturychampionship-2021/.
This offer is only valid with online registration prior to the event. A ticket voucher and a Department of Defense issued ID or photo ID are required when redeeming passes at the tournament. Handicap and wheelchair entry is accommodated at the tournament tent area near admissions. Handicap parking is located at the rear parking lot of the Hard Rock Casino Lake Tahoe for a fee.
The all-star line-up of celebrities in the tournament include Justin Timberlake, Patrick Mahomes, Tony Romo, Steve Young, Dan Quayle, CC Sabathia, Jerry Rice, Larry the Cable Guy, Mardy Fish, and dozens of others from the sports and entertainment fields.
As the South Shore’s largest special event, the golf tournament’s officials, sponsors, and celebrities are looking forward to welcoming spectators back following last year’s protocols amid the global pandemic that prohibited fan attendance. This July’s mega-hit anticipates the return to a semblance of normalcy with spectator access – albeit at a reduced level of pre-COVID years as organizers work with state, regional and health authorities to ensure health and safety for all participants and attendees. Lake Tahoe tourism authorities have enacted various “Know Before You Go” protocols as well as the Lake Tahoe Take Care Travel Pledge to reinforce mindful and responsible travel efforts.
General admission tickets for the public are available online and only in advance. To promote social distancing and avoid lines, gate sales during tournament week have been suspended. Tickets are $30 each day, for the practice round Wednesday, the Celebrity-Am Thursday, and for each round of the 54-hole tournament Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans can purchase up to four tickets each, allowing for more equitable public distribution.
An adult purchasing a ticket can bring in one child, ten and under, free. While the celebrities have voiced obvious enthusiasm for the return of fans, health precautions for everyone will preclude autographs, selfies, handshakes and fist bumps. As we carefully make the journey back from the pandemic, fans are asked to respect the necessary space and distance protocols in place.
The American Century Championship utilizes the Modified Stableford format where points are awarded as follows: 10 for a double eagle, 8 for a hole in one, 3 for a birdie, 1 for par, 0 for bogey, and minus 2 for double bogey.
The tournament offers a purse of $600,000, with $125,000 to the winner. The 54-hole competition will test the golf skills of more than 80 stars from sports and entertainment and has donated more than $5.5 million to charity. It will be televised live from Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, its home since the 1990 inaugural, on NBCSN from 5-8 p.m. ET on Friday, July 9; and on NBC from 2:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11. Additional coverage will be provided by GOLF Channel through the course of the week.
