Kerri Walsh Jennings on winning gold: “So much hard work, and love, and dedication, and faith, and belief, and support. I mean, we have an army behind us and there’s so much love at home. Thank you everyone at home…Misty and I have something really special. The world knows it; we know it and we embrace it. I just wish we were playing again because I feel like we played terribly, but we won and I am so honored to have played the last 12 years with Misty and I’m just so proud.”
Misty May-Treanor: “The stadiums keep growing. Probably 15,000 plus people probably came out to watch this match tonight. And that’s what the players have been involved with is growing the sport. Kerri and I want to go down as the best team in history and to go down as three time gold medalists. When we came together, this is what we wanted. Believing in our goal, that’s why we’re standing here.”

Doc Rivers: “The one thing they [Team USA] can do that no one else can [successfully] is they can turn around their game completely with defense…then they turn their defense on, they turn their game on.”
Doug Collins: “To me, he [Lebron James] is like Michael Jordan. He knows when he has to score and he has this incredible ability at reading his team, his opponents, and most importantly—what his team needs to win…He’s the best defender in his position, like Michael Jordan was—and those two are definitely alike.”
