TBS’ MLB Postseason Coverage Marketing Campaign to Feature Kid Rock’s New Song “Born Free”
Grammy-nominated artist also be featured in National CineMedia Theatres starting Labor Day Weekend
TBS, exclusive television home of all four of Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Division Series and the American League Championship Series (ALCS), will team up with GRAMMY® nominated artist Kid Rock to create an exclusive full length video featuring his soon-to-be released song “Born Free.” The video, which will debut in National CineMedia theatres nationwide on Friday, Sept. 3, will include exclusive footage from a recent concert outside of the singer’s hometown of Detroit, Mich. The song will be used throughout TBS’ marketing campaign for its MLB Postseason coverage including shorter versions of the video that will run beginning in early September. It will also be used as a secondary theme throughout the network’s coverage, serving as the primary musical bed to enhance the network’s broadcast elements.
The song is the title track off of Kid Rock’s new album “Born Free,” which is set to be released on Tues., November 16. The TBS MLB video featuring Kid Rock can be found at: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/hotcorner/index.jsp
“Kid Rock’s new song ‘Born Free’ is the perfect track to complement the MLB Postseason on TBS campaign. It’s a song with an all American feel that connects perfectly with America’s favorite pastime, baseball. Also, having the opportunity to shoot Kid Rock’s performance in front of his hometown crowd added a dynamic energy that could not be duplicated.” said Craig Barry, SVP of Creative and Content for Turner Sports.
The two-minute and thirty second version of the Kid Rock video will run on 14,600 screens through National CineMedia theatres, which include AMC Entertainment, Inc., Cinemark USA, Inc. and Regal Entertainment Group, from Sept. 3 –23 and again from Oct. 1 – 7, kicking off a larger campaign which integrates Kids Rock’s “Born Free” throughout the MLB Postseason on TBS both in marketing assets and in-telecast elements. The video will run across the Turner-owned networks including TNT, tbs, truTV, CNN, HLN and CNN Airport Network. TBS takes the mound on Oct. 6th with exclusive coverage of the Division Series, followed by the ALCS on Oct. 15th.
