MINNEAPOLIS, MINN / February 14, 2019 – SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company, and the leading provider of Sport Relationship Management software is partnering with USA Hockey to promote participation in youth hockey across the United States during USA Hockey’s Hockey Week Across America (HWAA), February 17 – 24, 2019 and USA Hockey’s Try Hockey for Free Day, February 23.
Now in its 12th year, Hockey Week Across America is designed to engage the hockey community in celebrating the sport of hockey at all levels and exposing the sport to new audiences.
Beginning on February 18, SportsEngine will feature youth hockey programs on its youth sports directory, SportsEngine.com, will dedicate its homepage to Hockey Week Across America, and will feature all USA Hockey affiliated organizations, enabling families to quickly and easily find youth hockey programs in their area. During the entire week of Hockey Week Across America, SportsEngine encourages hockey families to post photos or videos of hockey firsts such as the first day on skates or first hockey goal with the hashtag #FirstDayOnSkates.
As part of a long-standing partnership between SportsEngine and USA Hockey SportsEngine has been named presenting sponsor of USA Hockey’s Try Hockey for Free Day, taking place on Saturday, February 23. Participating locations across the country will encourage kids, ages 4 to 9, to come try youth hockey as part of Hockey Week Across America. All locations will have limited equipment available for use. Families can find the closest Try Hockey event near them on SportsEngine.com.
SportsEngine.com is the country’s largest youth sports directory, featuring over 110,000 youth sports organizations representing over 70 sports across the U.S. and Canada. Parents and athletes can search by sport and geographic location to find a comprehensive list of youth sports organizations, programs, and events in their area. Administrators may also access SportsEngine.com to claim their organization or event, enabling them to promote programs, collect registrations, and ensure their listing appears in search results.
