STAMFORD, Conn. – March 3, 2020 – NBC Sports presents six NHL games this week, highlighted by a Wednesday Night Hockey doubleheader beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET with the top two teams in the Metropolitan Division, when Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals host Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers. Coverage continues at 9:30 p.m. ET, when Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche play host to Ryan Getzlaf and the Anaheim Ducks.
NBC Sports will take fans inside the sounds and passion of hockey with a one-hour special “Wired: Stadium Series – Kings vs. Avalanche” Wednesday night at 12 a.m. ET on NBCSN, immediately following coverage of Ducks-Avalanche.
NBC Sports’ second NBCSN doubleheader of the week on Sunday begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Ryan O’Reilly and the Western Conference-leading St. Louis Blues face Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks. NBC Sports will utilize an all-female crew to broadcast and produce game coverage of Blues-Blackhawks, coinciding with International Women’s Day and marking the first NHL game broadcast and produced solely by women in the U.S. Click here for more info.
Sunday’s nightcap in San Jose will feature Brent Burns and the Sharks hosting MacKinnon and the Avalanche at 10 p.m. ET.
This week’s NHL coverage begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the Lightning host the Bruins, a clash that features the top two teams in the Eastern Conference. On Thursday, NBCSN will feature Sebastian Aho and the Carolina Hurricanes facing off against Giroux and the Flyers at 7 p.m. ET.
Liam McHugh will host Wednesday’s coverage on NHL Live alongside analysts Keith Jones and Anson Carter and NHL insider Bob McKenzie. Tappen will host Sunday night’s studio coverage alongside analyst and three-time Canadian Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Botterill.
Tonight’s studio coverage will be hosted by McHugh with Jones and Scott Hartnell. Additionally, Thursday’s studio coverage will be hosted by Paul Burmeister alongside analysts Mike Milbury and Hartnell.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – FLYERS-CAPITALS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Flyers (38-20-7, 83 pts) defeated the Rangers 5-3 on Sunday for their sixth straight win and currently sit in second place in the Metropolitan Division. Travis Konecny (23g/37a) registered a goal and assist in the victory and leads the team in points.
On Sunday, the Capitals (40-19-6, 86 pts) beat the Wild 4-3 on NBCSN and remain atop the Metropolitan Division standings. Alex Ovechkin (45g/18a) is tied for second in the league in goals and John Carlson (15g/58a) leads the team in points with 73, which is the most among all league defensemen.
Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

The Ducks (26-31-8, 60 pts) are winners of two of their last three games and are paced in points by Ryan Getzlaf (13g/27a). The Avalanche (40-18-7, 87 pts) are on a seven-game winning streak and beat the Red Wings 2-1 last night. Nathan MacKinnon (33g/53a) ranks fifth in the league in points (86).
