Rising star Andre Berto makes his much anticipated 2010 debut when WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING:  ANDRE BERTO VS. CARLOS QUINTANA AND CELESTINO CABALLERO VS. DAUD YORDAN is presented live SATURDAY, APRIL 10 (10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT) from the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., exclusively on HBO.  The WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING team will be ringside for the event, which will be closed-captioned for the hearing impaired, presented in HDTV and presented in Spanish on HBO Latino.

Other HBO playdates:  April 11 (8:00 a.m.) and 12 (1:05 a.m.)

HBO2 playdates:  April 11 (4:30 p.m.) and 13 (midnight)

Miami native Andre Berto (25-0, 19 KOs), who earned his welterweight title in 2008 and defended his crown twice last year, makes his first ring appearance of 2010 against the formidable Carlos Quintana (27-2, 21 KOs) of Moca, Puerto Rico in a 12-round title tilt.  After a breakout year in 2009, the 26-year-old Berto, 26, was slated to make his first ring appearance of the new year Jan. 30, but the devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti Jan. 12 changed all that.  With a host of family members still living in the country where his mother and father were born, Berto quickly left camp and turned his focus to relief, spending four days in Haiti assisting in the rebuilding effort.

Although his sister Naomi survived the earthquake, Berto’s uncle — and his uncle’s entire family — did not.  Berto’s moving account of his visit to Haiti is posted at hbo.com/boxing.

Quintana, 33, faces a tall order in challenging Berto for his 147-pound crown, but this is familiar territory for the engaging Puerto Rican native.  He boasts the only victory to date over Paul Williams, who was a 147-pound titleholder when they met in 2008.

The opening bout is a 12-round featherweight contest between Celestino Caballero (33-2, 23 KOs) of Panama City, Panama and Daud Yordan (25-0, 19 KOs) of Kalimantan, Indonesia.  Caballero, a junior featherweight titleholder, has been a force for four years in the 122-pound division; now moving up to increased competition, he must first contend with the formidable Yordan.

Preceding the live doubleheader will be the debut of the all-access reality series “24/7 Mayweather/Mosley” at 10:00 p.m. (ET)/ 7:00 p.m. (PT), with an encore presentation immediately after the twin bill.

All HBO boxing events are broadcast in HDTV.  HBO viewers must have access to the HBO HDTV channel to watch HBO programming in high definition.

HBO SPORTS PRESENTS A SPLIT-SITE DOUBLEHEADER WHEN

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING®:   KELLY PAVLIK VS. SERGIO MARTINEZ

AND LUCIAN BUTE VS. EDISON MIRANDA

IS SEEN LIVE SATURDAY, APRIL 17 ON HBO

HBO Sports presents two action-packed live title bouts from two different locations on the same night when WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING:  KELLY PAVLIK VS. SERGIO MARTINEZ AND LUCIAN BUTE VS. EDISON MIRANDA is seen SATURDAY, APRIL 17 (10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT) from Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall and the Bell Center in Montreal, exclusively on HBO.  Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant and Emanuel Steward will be ringside from Atlantic City, while Bob Papa, Max Kellerman and Lennox Lewis will be in Montreal for all the action, presented in HDTV and in Spanish on HBO Latino.

Other HBO playdates:  April 18 (8:00 a.m.) and 19 (12:45 a.m.)

HBO2 playdates:  April 18 (4:30 p.m.) and 20 (midnight)

The night opens in Canada, as undefeated super middleweight champion and Montreal native Lucian Bute (25-0, 20 KOs) takes on Edison Miranda (33-4, 29 KOs) from Carolina, Puerto Rico, in a scheduled 12-round title bout.  Enormously popular in Quebec, Bute is coming off an impressive knockout of Librado Andrade in his HBO debut last November.  He continues to take on all challengers in his quest to dominate the division, putting his title and undefeated record on the line against an opponent known for one-punch knockout power.  The always exciting Miranda, once a dominant force in the middleweight division, is working with a new trainer and seeking to reestablish himself.

The main event takes place on the boardwalk in Atlantic City when Kelly Pavlik (36-1, 23 KOs) from Youngstown, Ohio faces off against Sergio Martinez (44-2-3, 24 KOs) of Madrid, Spain in a scheduled 12-round title contest.  Middleweight champ Pavlik, who has experienced some of his best moments at this Jersey shore venue, is back to full speed after being slowed by a hand injury in 2009.  Martinez, who showed tremendous ring skills when he challenged Paul Williams last December in an action-filled brawl, would send shockwaves through the 160-pound ranks with an upset win.

Immediately preceding the live doubleheader, the second episode of the all-access reality series “24/7 Mayweather/Mosley” debuts at 9:30 p.m. (ET)/ 6:30 p.m. (PT), with an encore presentation immediately after the twin bill.

All HBO boxing events are broadcast in HDTV.  HBO viewers must have access to the HBO HDTV channel to watch HBO programming in high definition.

HBO SPORTS PRESENTS A HARD-HITTING DOUBLEHEADER WHEN

HBO BOXING AFTER DARK®:  CRISTOBAL ARREOLA VS. TOMASZ ADAMEK

AND ALFREDO ANGULO VS. JOEL JULIO IS SEEN SATURDAY, APRIL 24

HBO’s hit late-night boxing series features a can’t-miss night of heavyweight and junior middleweight action when HBO BOXING AFTER DARK:  CRISTOBAL ARREOLA VS. TOMASZ ADAMEK AND ALFREDO ANGULO VS. JOEL JULIO is seen SATURDAY, APRIL 24 at 11:15 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT), from the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Cal., exclusively on HBO.  The HBO Sports team of Bob Papa, Lennox Lewis and Max Kellerman will be ringside for the event, which will be available in HDTV, closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired and presented in Spanish on HBO Latino.

Other HBO playdates:  April 25 (8:30 a.m.) and 26 (12:30 a.m.)

HBO2 playdates:  April 25 (4:45 p.m.) and 27 (midnight)

Fireworks are guaranteed in the main event when Cristobal Arreola (28-1, 25 KOs) from Riverside, Cal. and Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KOs) from Zywiec, Poland, two of the most explosive and exciting heavyweights, meet in a 12-round clash of titans.  After suffering a hard-fought defeat to heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in September, Mexican-American Arreola got back on track with a crushing TKO victory over Brian Minto in December on HBO.  Now, with his sights set on another shot at the heavyweight title, the heavy-handed and entertaining Arreola looks to send a message to anyone with a belt by scoring a victory.

With the help of a huge following in his adopted home of Jersey City, NJ, Adamek has become one of the hottest contenders in the heavyweight division, having already earned light heavyweight and cruiserweight titles.  Registering big wins over Andrew Golata and Jason Estrada in his first two heavyweight fights, he hopes to secure his place among the division’s best by taking out one of its biggest hitters.

In the evening’s opening bout, Alfredo Angulo (17-1, 14 KOs) of Coachella, Cal. by way of Mexico, squares off against Colombian-born Joel Julio (35-3, 31 KOs), now of Miami, in a high-powered ten-round junior middleweight bout.  Fresh off a devastating knockout of Harry Joe Yorgey on HBO in November, hard-charging fan favorite Angulo looks to continue his rise through the junior middleweight ranks with another eye-catching victory.

Top junior middleweight contender and knockout artist Julio, once considered among the hottest prospects in the world, is eager to rebound from recent losses to high-quality opponents.

Earlier in the evening, the third episode of the all-access reality series “24/7 Mayweather/Mosley” debuts at 8:30 p.m. (ET/ PT).
