STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 18, 2019 – Alex Ovechkin and the league-leading Washington Capitals make their second consecutive Wednesday Night Hockey appearance this week, when they travel to Madison Square Garden to face Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
Western Conference leaders will be featured on Tuesday’s NHL doubleheader on NBCSN starting at 8 p.m. ET, when Ryan O’Reilly and the defending Stanley Cup Champion and Central Division-leading St. Louis Blues host Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Coverage on NBCSN shifts west at 10:30 p.m. ET, when Connor McDavid and the Pacific Division-leading Edmonton Oilers travel to San Jose to face Brent Burns and the San Jose Sharks.
Kathryn Tappen will host Wednesday’s coverage on NHL Live alongside analysts Keith Jones and Mike Milbury and NHL insider Bob McKenzie. Tomorrow night’s studio coverage will be hosted by Paul Burmeister alongside analysts Jeremy Roenick and Anson Carter.

The Capitals (15-3-4) lead the league with 34 points following a 3-2 shootout win vs. Boston on Saturday night to extend their road point streak to nine games. Alex Ovechkin enters the week tied for third in the NHL in goals (14) ahead of Washington’s game tonight against Anaheim. The Rangers (8-8-2) fell to the Florida Panthers, 4-3, on Saturday. Artemi Panarin (9g/14a) increased his consecutive point streak to 11 games registering a goal and assist in the loss.
Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, who is in his 15th season as NBC Sports’ lead NHL play-by-play commentator, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher will call Capitals-Rangers from Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y.

Steven Stamkos netted his 400th career NHL goal on Saturday night, but the Lightning (9-6-2) lost 4-3 to the Winnipeg Jets to snap a three-game winning streak. The defending Stanley Cup Champion Blues (12-4-5) currently lead the Central Division, but fell to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday, 4-1, ending their nine-game point streak.
Play-by-play commentator Kenny Albert and analyst Pierre McGuire will call the action from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Mo.
TOMORROW – OILERS-SHARKS AT 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Pacific Division-leading Oilers (13-6-3) lost to Dallas, 5-4, in overtime on Saturday. In the loss, Connor McDavid (14g/26a) collected three assists to become the second player to reach the 40-point mark this season, joining teammate Leon Draisaitl (16g/27a) atop the league’s point standings. The Sharks (10-10-1) are riding a six-game winning streak into this week’s action following a 4-3 shootout win vs. Detroit on Saturday.

NHL on NBC analyst and 2019 NHL Hockey Fights Cancer ambassador Eddie Olczyk discusses his career and fight with colon cancer in an interview with Kathryn Tappen in a 30-minute special this Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN following Wednesday Night Hockey. Olczyk was named the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer ambassador earlier this month and November marks Hockey Fights Cancer Month throughout the league.
