WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – PENGUINS-LIGHTNING AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Penguins (6-3-0) make their second straight Wednesday Night Hockey appearance after defeating the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, in overtime last week on NBCSN. Sidney Crosby leads the club in points (4g/8a), including his highlight reel goal vs. Colorado last Wednesday. Pittsburgh faces Florida tonight.
The Lightning (4-3-1) are coming off a 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Avalanche, but were victorious in their other two matchups last week. Tampa Bay has had a balanced offensive attack thus far this season, with six players having registered at least five points, and are led by Steven Stamkos’ (4g/5a) nine points.
NBC Sports will showcase a group of Congressional Medal of Honor recipients that are being recognized by the Tampa Bay Lightning in pre-game ceremonies as part of its Wednesday Night Hockey coverage. Jeremy Roenick will interview Medal of Honor recipients during pre-game and game coverage on Wednesday night, and NHL Live will air a feature with interviews of both current Lightning players and Medal of Honor recipients.
Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, who is in his 15th season as NBC Sports’ lead NHL play-by-play commentator, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher will call Penguins-Lightning from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
STANLEY CUP FINAL REMATCH – BLUES-BRUINS – SATURDAY AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The defending Stanley Cup Champion Blues (4-2-3) handed the Avalanche their first regulation loss of the season on Monday as Vladimir Tarasenko factored on all three goals (1g/2a) in a 3-1 win in St. Louis. Boston (5-1-2) is off to a fast start this season, due in large part to David Pastrnak, who is tied for the NHL lead in goals (9) in eight games played.
This marks the first game between the two teams since their winner-take-all Game 7 in last year’s Stanley Cup Final – the most-watched NHL game on record – when nearly 9 million viewers watched the Blues beat the Bruins, 4-1, to capture their first-ever Stanley Cup.
Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, analyst Mike Milbury and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher will call Blues-Bruins from TD Garden in Boston, Mass.

The Flames (5-4-1) defeated the Ducks 2-1 on Sunday night behind 29 saves by netminder Cam Talbot and an assist from Johnny Gaudreau (3g/5a). The Flames host the Capitals tonight.
